I think “coming on a bit thick” is what de Koch suggested to Warner!
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!

So does anybody know what de cock said or are we assuming it was about his missus?

If he went down the sonny route then he may have deserved a whack.

Its the classic Australian cricket team way, Can give it out by the truck load but when its returned serve cry wolf and play all innocent. Warner (The biggest cockhead in cricket, Virat included) is the worst for it.

Its actually a shame as this current cricket side (especially the bowling unit) could go down as one of the greats but whilst these f@#kwits carry on the way they do they never will.

This stuff has been going on since the start of time and every country dishes it out. It's only because it's far more open now to the public and everything is scrutinised that it gets out.

*Patrick Patterson stormed in to the MCG rooms and pointed out 5 players who sledged the gizzards out of him and told them all they are going to die when they go out to bat.
*Hansie Cronje threw a stump full pelt in to the umpires room at Adelaide Oval after Mark Waugh was given not out for whacking his stumps after being hit by a short pitched ball.
*Andre Nel invited Justin Langer out the back of the Adelaide Oval for a fight after play but shit himself after his team mates told him of Langers background.

These are only things that got out after years of not telling the public (apart from the Cronje incident). Who gives a shit, he was held back by his team mates. Proof will be in the pudding when he bats next.

And remember the ugly Aussies branding under Steve Waugh's captaincy as well.
I'm sure during body line there would have been exchanges the public didn't see.

I have no issue with sledging but the rules I apply are:

1. If you can dish it out you must be able to take it back
2. Be the first to put your hand out at the end of the game regardless of the result (don't be one of those clowns who hang around for a beer after a win but the first to take off after a loss)
3. Regardless of what's said it stays as a verbal stoush and not physical
4. If a batsmen / bowlers completely wins the battle with performance be the first to acknowledge it.

Was at an Ian Botham luncheon a few years ago before a test match started and he talked about being privy to hearing a lot of sledging through the stump mics.

He talked about Warner having possibly the lowest IQ of any Australian he has ever met, the unwittest sledger he had ever heard in his time in cricket and the bloke who goes down the personal sledging line the most often in his time playing cricket.

He also talked about Warner being just as big a peacock of the field unlike many Australians he had played against in his time who were 'top blokes' off the field.

He believed that if Warner wasn't such a crowd drawer to international cricket the ICC would have suspended him on multiple occasions for his style of sledging.

None of those you mentioned carried out their threats though.
Dickwad Warner did and had to be restrained by teammates.

That’s the difference!

Nel didn't do it because he would have had the shit kicked out of him. Pretty sure Cronje broke a stump when it was thrown in the rooms.

You reckon Botham and Chapelli didn't come to blows?

It’s either open slather or you shut up.
You can’t pick and choose like Warner has.

Brian McMillian on the 94 tour at Durban (ironically) IIRC from previous players telling that anecdote.

"Thousands of people go missing in South Africa each year AB......" or words to that effect as he put his pistol down in front of Border at the lunch table...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
