The Butterfly Effect return to Australia for the first time in over 5 years with original front man, Clint Boge. Their Adelaide show is at HQ on 4th March.

I'll be heading along- their show at the Gov in 2011 was brilliant.

They did not disappoint!

Clint Boge is a terrific front man, IMO. Plenty of energy in his performances, has great connection with his fellow band members and is a great vocalist.

Their support act, Rival Fire (a Melbourne based band) were pretty good too. Fronted by son of John, Rob Farnham.

Their debut album, War, is on Spotify for those who wish to check them out.

A bit of controversy at The Gov on Saturday night.

Adelaide music venue The Gov has apologised after a staff member allegedly made a “dumb” sexist comment to members of Perth band Boat Show.

The alleged incident occurred on Saturday, when Boat Show performed at The Gov in support of Dear Seattle and Hockey Dad. According to the bands, an in-house sound technician asked Boat Show, “How’s the glass ceiling going for you?”

Went to the 500 on Sunday with 12 women ( yep, I spent most of the afternoon watching shit as they went to and from the toilet ) and hung around for Robbie Williams. Mrs Boon and a group of her girlfriends go and see him pretty much every tour, including a weekend in Sydney just to see him in "swing" mode.

He certainly is an entertainer, from the moment he played his opening track nobody had ever heard he had the crowd, the chicks, in the palm of his hand. Lucky bastard.

Lots of quality crowd banter, especially when he was discussing a George Michael hit ( Freedom ) he was going to play. He said if there was one dick in the world he could suck......*pause*....it would be his own. If not, George Michael's, "but I'm not gay" he says, the crowd goes hush....he "wait, hang on a minute, I say I'm not gay and you lot go quiet, **** off"

Played a few covers ( his Dad comes out and sings "My Way" ) and probably spent a bit over an hour and a half on stage. About the same time it took to walk about 100m after it finished.

I remember seeing The Butterfly Effect at the Adelaide Uni O-Ball in early 2002, and after hearing the first ten seconds of Black Lung, I immediately bought their self-titled EP. In my opinion, it's still their magnum opus.

Great tune.

Whilst I am a huge fan of the alt metal/grunge style that was prominent through the EP & Begins Here, I can't go past Imago.

Black Lung, Always, Perception Twin & One Second of Insanity had the crowd going nuts on Sunday night.

Back in my and booking days, The Butterfly Effect and Cog were the first bands I booked at the Loxton Hotel.

FYI for anyone going to the Day on the Green on the 17th.
There are buses leaving from Glenelg around midday every 30 minutes or so and returning after the concert has finished back at Glenelg.
$40 return.
You have to Pre book though.

Me and 4 mates are doing this.

Organised one through my father-in-law, 10 of us on a 13 seater with a liquor licence to be able to drink on the bus, door to door return ( Alberton to Leconfield ) for $50 per person.

See you there!

Alberton to Leconfield would be a good 6 stubby trip.

Taken from Facebook...

Hi mates
In May this year it will mark 10 years until our good friend Garrie Patterson passed away. He had extraordinarily talents!
Anthony Nemet (OWO / NSB) & I are working together to create an event to honour and share in his memory, which will be held at the end of May. Some amazing bands from the Adelaide scene will be making comebacks for reunions.
We are also looking to start a foundation in his name with the purpose to raise money to provide less fortunate children with instruments.
This message is a call out to the Adelaide 90’s / 00’s music scene to get onboard and to work with us on this. Any help will be great help! Sorry tag but we need to get the word out PLEASE tag other to get the word out
