Around 20 wickets again for the year isn't too bad?
I can't imagine this is true with Spencer Johnson back next year, and I'm hearing that they may have a former quick back next year as well.
They need batters surely anyway, 1-2 batters and a keeper you would think, not sure how their replacement keeper has been in the second half of the year. Cant rely on 2-3 batters for the year to do all the work.

I think if Woodville can sneak into the finals they would be potentially a danger. There would be a few quite unhappy people around grade cricket I would say if Uni made the final, got back Weatherald, Mennie and Winter and won the flag on the back of those three. Adelaide have a very dangerous bowling line up if they make it as well. Valente, Neate and so on have to potential to have a day out and bowl any side out for under 100.

Bradman chances, Page, Plant, Raphael, Benton, Robins?
Maybe Kelvin Smith a smokey chance.

Redbacks have released four players for Grade Cricket this weekend, Zampa and Lehmann to East Torrens, McInerney to Woodville and Weatherald to Uni.

Interestingly, both Valente and Robins can't bowl. With Adelaide needing to beat Kensy to play finals, and Dalton/Ross playing, this is massive decision.

Does that mean they are chance to play last Shield game? Robins did take ten wickets in Second X1 game and Valente best all rounder.

Interesting about Young Andrew Anderson from ET leaving, you’d think Eichler would finally pull the pin this year. They might be on the hunt for another keeper...keep an eye on them there might be a big poach this off season.

FS to be fair E14 is on the mark, not sure there is a player in A Grade that Sleepy hasn't spoken to about playing for TTG, but as we both know Weavs, Tev, Diesel and Co have very quickly told him to pull his head in where necessary and canned very quickly some ordinary blokes that Sleepy has lined up, thought he might of learnt, but obviously not.
Now E14
- none of our boys know or care what Gats did 2 or 3 years ago, he is a quality person and the ND boys will support that statement, very highly regarded made a mistake 2-3 years ago apparently, move on everyone else has.
- TTG stands proudly behind our junior development, you keep on bagging it, but give us nothing, you conveniently ignored my post outlining WT past credentials, obviously too close to the bone, Nielsen has stifled your recruiting policy with no more interstate players.
- interesting Oakley playing A grade tomorrow in full strength team, he's actually been training with West Adelaide which has hampered his cricket, he is now a machine who keeps on running in hard.
- info on Davey is rubbish, didn't want to keep in limited over stuff as it cost him half his footy season last year with recurrent niggles, but after a visit to hospital after limited over game with split webbing he will keep all the longer stuff, for how long, who knows, but we now have a premiership winning reserve keeper who did very tidy job in limited over stuff, if Anderson was worthwhile he would be keeping for ET. Sleepy has probably spoken to 8 or 9 grade keepers if I know how he operates, which I do.

As everyone who has an association with junior sport knows, the parents know what is best for their kids and they are all going to play test cricket. Unfortunately we have quality people associated with our club and its development, far better than most that do actually know somethin about the game and how best to develop kids, our pathway is proven and will continue to be robust. Interesting that we have 5 U16''s that have played seniors all year, varying from A to D Grade and our 16 R team are still going to play finals, probably bit better than most. Suggest you stop worrying about TTG and concentrate more on your own club, if kids wish to leave because of interfering parents, they are most welcome when they are 18 and open clearance applies.

Don't worry about Sleepy, he has some strange ideas at times, you seem to be the only one that takes him seriously.

Thanks for reply Bulls, some excellent points and well written. Won't question these points again. Surprisingly heard from my TTG contact that all the Senior players intend to play on next year (reckon if you win the flag a couple may decide to go out on a high!), and Patrick Page Jnr will take over as captain in all comps, Weaver still be around and be great support for him on the field.

Most times on here just sticking up for WT, when have more time will respond to claims posted by others above as totally wrong.

I believe Mark Eichler announced his retirement at training this week.

Any other players likely to call it a day?

Looks like all the senior grades have been dominated by 5 or 6 clubs this year.

1st Grade Semi’s
TTG vs Glenelg
Sturt vs Uni

Why would Woodville bat all day and make 470 when they needed an outright - finals just an after thought to individual performances?

Very strange. Wicket must have been flat as a pancake so once West Torrens folded they pretty much gave up hope.

You’d think knowing Glenelg were going to beat WT by lunch on the 1st day would’ve helped as Woodville would’ve known an outright was the only option and risking losing (I.e. declaring at 300-320) to have enough overs at Uni may have been the way to go. Unless declaring on a state batsman is viewed in a bad light?

TC, looks like you went a bit early on the Sturt in all grades, I do agree that they have been very impressive this year, young players, lots of credit to new coach and especially Mick Weatherald who does their junior stuff. Coach is stacking some good creditials, firstly with our boys for a couple, Eastern Edge who were almost unbeatable for a couple of years and now Sturt, a very passionate cricket person.

And a special mention to TTG who have got all 4 senior teams in finals and a shout to Andrew "nugget" Hunter who is a player lifer at TTG, when the C grade are done so is he, a great club person, but in true fashion will continue to coach our juniors, thanks Nugget.

Lots of phones and websites being monitored on weekend, WT at 9/70 were dust early, tactics changed hourly.

Easy to say in hindsight, Adelaide also had Kensigton 5 for not many at the same stage.

Lloyd Popes stock is continuing to rise. What a prospect he is and he seems to get bags against really good opposition. I can’t believe that Adelaide also had two bites of the cherry and come up short. I really thought that this could have been there year and ended a big finals drought.
Few things I think we took out of this season, Harry Neilsen could play state cricket as a bat, Sturt with there good youth could be building something really hard to beat for a while and the competition as a whole is in pretty good hands. Very even and competitive indeed.
Also great effort with the four double centurions on the weekend Neilsen, Lehmann, Brennan and Wweeks. For Weeks to be still scoring runs after 200 games is pretty unique. Brennan may kick start his career from here, huge potential.
