Line cutters.

I cannot fathom the levels of self absorption one must have to knowingly and willingly cut in line. I just don't get it.

Get to the line for our fringe show with a couple of mates, nice and early so we'll get a good seat. Attendee does a great job sorting everyone out and dividing the crowd in three even groups based on first in best dressed.

Bloke and his date rock up literally 30 seconds before show time and tries to sneak in front of us as the line starts to move. I'm not having any of that and pintedly tell him to go to the back of line three. He arks up and wants to fight me. Even reels out the "you wanna go ****" line.

Certainly gave me the shits.

In my younger and stupider days I would've gotten into it, but it's really not worth it. Just told him to relax, enjoy the show and walked away.

Logic dictates that one of three things will occur.

1. We fight and it's a fair match, results in a draw - both hurt and no conclusive outcome
2. I win and kick his arse - he's hurt, I get arrested or something
3. He wins and kicks my arse - I'm hurt.

None of them are really that appealing.

I saw a blue in the diva bar at Morphettville on Saturday...two big bulls going at it swinging for the fences. Both got hurt and bloodied. both got arrested. Shit outcome for both!

Yeah it's a waste of time and effort.

Having said that I was rehearsing a triangle choke in my head for the first 5 minutes of the show - "make sure you remember to create a straight edge with your hand..."

I couldn't remember if I have to push the head forward or pull it back so decided to forget my MMA debut.

In the taxi back to a mates place at 5.30am after the Gridiron SA awards night, I was informed the husband (seperated) of a lovely lady one of my mates was seeing was waiting for us with some muscle.

I was in no state to walk, let alone fight.

Very lucky the muscle, who happens to be a bouncer, and the biggest dude in Adelaide, knew my mate, and made them talk it out instead of fight.

In the end, I got an Uber home at 7am, and the rest of them (minus the husband) went to Blair Athol Villis for a schnitty breakfast.

Take solace in the knowledge that the queue jumper will press his luck again in the future; eventually he'll be challenged by someone who is younger and stupider. He will have his comeuppance.
