Unbelievable scenes. The owners left early for their safety under advice from security.
Burnley directors copped a load of shit from the West Ham fans who didn’t know they were from Burnley.
Nice touch from the Burnley bench who made room in the dug out for a group of young West Ham fans caught up in the melee. Kids would have been maybe 10 yo’s.
Nolan for West Ham and Barnes for Burnley both in trouble for manhandling fans on the pitch and it looks like they both might get bans, such is the stupidity of the FA.
As for the match, Hammers fell apart after a strong 1st half. Maybe the fans running on the field upset them.
For the Clarets it was the same as last week, the game completely changed when Dyche took off Hendrick and replaced him with Wood. Change happened on 60 mins, Clarets score 64 and 71 mins, game over. Clarets just cruised after that and WHU just couldn’t cope with two big forwards.
Last week Clarets were 1-0 down at half time and going nowhere. Off goes Hendrick, on comes Wood, Clarets revert to 4-4-2 and go on to win 2-1, and unlucky not to have won by more.
Incidentally hardly a pitch invasion in the true sense, 4 or 5 individuals going on the pitch at different times whilst the fat useless security guards who are paid to stop that stuff happening were too slow and couldn’t give a toss.
Has to be said none of the fans who went on the pitch showed any aggression to any of the players home or away, not that that’s an excuse.
Apart from that, Burnley seriously are the best team outside the top (big) 6, and had Arsenal not pulled off a surprise home win over Watford on Sunday we would be within 2 points of them. It’s quite amazing really, especially if you are a claret fan. I know we don’t have the depth of most other clubs and that showed over the previous 10 games where we had seven 1st team players out, but now we are getting back to near full strength we now expect to beat teams like Southampton (poor draw that), Everton and West Ham.
