Finally the supporters are showing some spine (not the pitch invasions though) hopefully it's spells the end of the current owners!!

Yep, love the fans giving it to them. Hopefully for West Ham fans it drives the crooks out of the club

Unfortunately i dont think it will drive them out and may result in them being more stubborn than ever. Potentially even hurt the club more and then pack the bags and leave.

Not a great state of affairs at the moment.

Unbelievable scenes. The owners left early for their safety under advice from security.

Burnley directors copped a load of shit from the West Ham fans who didn’t know they were from Burnley.
Nice touch from the Burnley bench who made room in the dug out for a group of young West Ham fans caught up in the melee. Kids would have been maybe 10 yo’s.

Nolan for West Ham and Barnes for Burnley both in trouble for manhandling fans on the pitch and it looks like they both might get bans, such is the stupidity of the FA.

As for the match, Hammers fell apart after a strong 1st half. Maybe the fans running on the field upset them.
For the Clarets it was the same as last week, the game completely changed when Dyche took off Hendrick and replaced him with Wood. Change happened on 60 mins, Clarets score 64 and 71 mins, game over. Clarets just cruised after that and WHU just couldn’t cope with two big forwards.

Last week Clarets were 1-0 down at half time and going nowhere. Off goes Hendrick, on comes Wood, Clarets revert to 4-4-2 and go on to win 2-1, and unlucky not to have won by more.

Incidentally hardly a pitch invasion in the true sense, 4 or 5 individuals going on the pitch at different times whilst the fat useless security guards who are paid to stop that stuff happening were too slow and couldn’t give a toss.

Has to be said none of the fans who went on the pitch showed any aggression to any of the players home or away, not that that’s an excuse.

Apart from that, Burnley seriously are the best team outside the top (big) 6, and had Arsenal not pulled off a surprise home win over Watford on Sunday we would be within 2 points of them. It’s quite amazing really, especially if you are a claret fan. I know we don’t have the depth of most other clubs and that showed over the previous 10 games where we had seven 1st team players out, but now we are getting back to near full strength we now expect to beat teams like Southampton (poor draw that), Everton and West Ham.

Wedgie wrote:West Ham game well behaved as usual.

Mark Noble clashed with one of his own supporters as pitch invasions and crowd protests marred West Ham's 3-0 defeat to Burnley.

An FA investigation is underway while an emergency meeting of all London Stadium stakeholders has also been called after the West Ham owners David Sullivan and David Gold were forced to leave the game early for their own safety.

A throng of West Ham fans had turned their attention away from the game and onto the directors box as their side conceded second-half goals to Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood (2).

One supporter that encroached the pitch was thrown to the ground by club captain Noble, who was then restrained by goalkeeper Joe Hart. Two more fans encroached onto the pitch and were led away by defender James Collins.

The match was interrupted for a second time following Burnley's second goal when another pitch invader grabbed a corner flag and attempted to plant it in the centre of the pitch.

Meanwhile, home fans gathered below the directors' box chanted 'sack the board' and 'you destroyed our club', and police had to be positioned along the touchline and around the West Ham bench, where further disturbances took place.

After a mistake from 'keeper Hart led to the third goal, he was approached by more angry supporters in a third pitch invasion with nine minutes of normal play remaining.

A West Ham statement said: "We have immediately launched a full and thorough investigation into the incidents which marred the second half of today's match and are committed to taking decisive and appropriate action."

The FA said: "We strongly condemn the crowd disturbances seen today and will be seeking observations from West Ham as well as awaiting the match referee's report."

The Premier League said: "It is essential that everybody who plays or attends a Premier League football match can do so safely. There is no place at any level of the game for what happened at the London Stadium today.

"While the official investigation of the incidents will be carried out by the Football Association, we will be asking our own questions of West Ham United about what happened this afternoon, especially to ensure similar events never reoccur.

"We would like to commend referee Lee Mason and his team of officials for their actions which, combined with the cooperation of players and coaching staff from both clubs, enabled the match to be completed."

I’m surprised the protests weren’t because that tosser Mason was ref.
Anyway what was he doing there when there was an Arsenal game to be won the next day

Weren’t WHU potless when Gold et al bought them out and playing Championship football?
Sustained period in the Premier League
Great deal in the London Staduim (£3m a year rent is a steal) allowing 50k fans to attend compared to the 30k that could attend the old stadium which had no where and no chance to expand. (Like Tottenham who also wanted to move to London Staduim for the same reasons)
£40+ m on players this year. Changed the manager before it was too late and will survive this year.
Moyes is a good manager. Just needs time and the summer transfer window to build his own squad.

It must be terrible being a Hammers fan

No surprise - results this season in the league have been appalling. Currently only one point clear of the drop.
FA Cup Quarter final at Wigan this weekend - no certainty whatsoever on our current form.
A few replacement names I’ve heard include Slavisia Jokanovic currently at Fulham & Graham Potter who is managing Swedish club Ostersund.

Just can’t score, but they have made a lot of money asset stripping.

Maybe going out of the FA Cup won’t be a bad thing. The old cliche ‘ about concentrating on the league.
There’s been a few FA Cup finalists who got relegated in the same season. Seton doesn’t want to be one of those and the longer they are in the comp the greater the risk of injury to players.

You can't score if there is no intent to score. They sacked Puel because he was too defensive and replaced him with Pellegrino who turned out to be worse. Still plenty of talent at Saints, but they need someone to come in get them playing a more attacking style. I think winning this week in the FA cup is important to give the team some confidence.

Agree with all your points. Long, Austin, Tadic, Boufal, Gabbiadini... plenty of goals there.
And yep, get past Wigan and take it from there.
IMO West Brom & Stoke are gone, that leaves one more spot that up to 8 clubs are trying to avoid.

Is Austin even fit.
Terrible glass shoulder, was always a problem at Burnley.

Not sure how much confidence they can get by beating a team two divisions below. Potential banana skin imo, try with the best 11 and win, so what, it’s expected, lose with your best 11 and disaster. I’d put in some kids. You can bet your ass WIGAN will be gunning for another EPL scalp which also means they won’t be holding anything back in the tackle.

Saints problem is 5 away games out of their last 8 isn’t good on current form, with Chelsea and City two of their home games, I wouldn’t feel too confident.
They will be hoping for that new manager bump but it might be too late.

Agree though, it will go down to the wire, and one promoted the previous year usually ends up going back down, so Huddersfield might give you some hope, even if they do have an easier run in.

Austin is about to return from a hamstring injury he picked up in late December. Missed a lot of last year with a shoulder.

Hmmm ....... smacks of desperation. Let's face it there were not a lot of options for the Saints. They sacked Pellegrino and his two assistants, so they had to find a manager who was ready to go with a couple of assistants. Mark Hughes and his two assistants on short term contracts until the end of the season. Hope it works.
