The media only tell half the story. I recently got an email to join up to Adelaide Oval footy membership with no joining fee as they had so many spots free which has never happened before.

The novelty hasn't worn off, the cost has grown ever prohibitive though.

3 game, pet, country, whatever, we all know all clubs numbers are skewed so take the number for what it's worth.

The bigger clubs have the bigger numbers, the middle clubs have the middle numbers and the bottom clubs have the bottom numbers. Easy.

Can we just not?

How about we review Ports crowds at the end of year. I seem to recall hysterical rants about the same thing last year that turned out to be nothing but exactly that.

Havent the Power's crowds dropped every year since moving to Adelaide Oval?

I was an Adelaide Oval footy member in the first year it was redeveloped and this is the first year I've ever been offered to take it up again with the sign on fee waived.

$200 for 11 games is great value for money.

costs me $334 to sit for the same seat at the crows

That's general admission, no reserved seat and we all know admission is only a portion of the cost of a day out. Adelaide's equivalent is $250.

I agree, that's good value but there's no denying people are weighing up where they spend their money.

yes but what port calls general admission is a MUCH larger area than the equivalent area for the crows. including all of the seats at the northern end of the ground, which are reserved. At a crows game you either get the hill or a tiny portion of the riverbank stand, which is usually full as soon as the gates open

Novelty hasn't worn off for Port, more like results have worn off.
If they win, they will come back.

How can the results have worn off? They haven't played anyone yet.

Round one, good recruiting, big expectations?

Should be a big crowd in, we will see if there is...

not sure what you're on about here, there is massive cause for optimism about port this year.

they would certainly be disappointed if they didnt get a big crowd

C’mon mate, listening to Never tear us apart and watching grown men wave scarves in each other’s face is worth that alone.

Spent a fair amount of time at Adelaide Oval today (looks a treat) and again was told ticket sales were slow.
