Smith is done as captain, thats for sure. Better get Renshaw on a flight now as Bancroft will be done as well.

Who captains the next test?
Probably Tim Paine or Shaun Marsh as Warner is not fit to lead anything.

If what smith was eluding too is right, the whole leadership group was involved. This has to be Warner also.
To be honest he probably hatched the plan.

My thoughts:

Smith to go as Captain. Other guilty parties suspended for a good length of time with them to miss serious and meaningful cricket.
I wouldn't be surprised if Lehmann is relieved of coaching duties after this series either.

Suspend a bowler so Chadd can finally play lol!

I am in absolute shock. We've never done anything like this, except maybe Trevor Chappell's underarm, but this is a whole different level given the number of players involved.

My thoughts go to the players who took all those blows in bodyline, AB making the toughest 10,000 runs anyone's ever made against West Indian pace quartets, Dean Jones going to hospital in Indian after saving a test match, all representing Australia, only to have the baggy green disgraced by Smith and co.

I just can't understand why on earth anyone would want to win by cheating? Let alone any Australian...

Embarrassing and disgraceful in equal measures. The underarm incident was unsportsmanlike, but at least technically legal. This incident was flat-out cheating endorsed by the senior members of the team. Australia's cricketing moral high ground has been taken out from under it, and deserving so, unfortunately.

Whilst the underarm was morally wrong and a hideous blight on the spirit of the game, it wasn't blatant cheating like this. Hope the book gets thrown at them.

This is absolutely disgraceful. Can’t believe someone would completely throw their reputation down the toilet like that, we are now as low as the Pakistan teams that people still have no respect for. People deserve lengthy stints on the sidelines for this. It’s not a brain fade using your nail on the seam or picking off a piece of the ball that’s sticking up, it’s deliberate systematic cheating.

Australians are proud of the fact that our teams and players might be cnts, but never cheating cnts.

Absolutely appalling. Smith has to go as captain. Their behaviour in this series has been disgraceful.

Has the yellow piece of paper been found and proven to be tape?
Or is it sandpaper as it appears?

Either way it’s blatant cheating.

Just watched the discussion on "Offsiders." The footage from the press conference post-match suggest that Bancroft was pretty much thrown under the bus by the leadership group - he said was very nervous before tampering with the ball.

Whilst Bancroft also participated, I don't think the most inexperienced player in his shoes would've had a choice to opt out. Disgraceful that Smith and the other so-called leaders would hatch a plan to cheat, and then place the responsibility on the greenest player in the side. If Smith or Warner or whomever wanted to gain an unfair advantage out of tampering with the ball, then they should've been the ones to do it themselves, and bear the brunt of the consequences.

On that basis, Smith and the leadership group are not only disgraces to the game, but complete cowards.

On top of the disgraceful lack of sportsmanship, I reckon it's pretty bloody un-Australian to cough up that others were involved. Can't imagine there's anyway I can ever be a Smith fan again after this.

I'm totally embarrassed to be Australian today.
Smith and warner out as leaders.
Bancroft or someone else should have said no, we win fairly or not at all.
Well done on bringing the reputation of Australian cricket into the gutter lads!

Instead of smith being recognized as one of the all time best batsmen at the end of his career he will be known as that cheat from the 2018 south African tour.

Very disappointing, if that's the case, Boof's a better bloke and cricket person that that. Needs to be punished with equal (if not greater) force.
