Agreed even I felt bad watching it. And it’s all thanks to that loud mouthed cancer known as Warner.

Ironic how the biggest mouth in cricket now has nothing to say. #grub

Very.

I do wonder if the aftermath would have panned out differently, had he accepted responsibility like he did then, in that presser in Cape Town.

Last time I checked the definition of community cricket was any level below Grade Cricket. Therefore just playing Grade cricket isn't going to satisfy that clause.

And I am sure his earnestness in taking on this responsibility would have led CA towards their lengthy ban. Heres a fact... if he had played the Boof defence no one would have called him out and he would be playing tomorrow.
I will be standing and applauding when he next walks out to the wicket.

As shattered as he is he was captain and had prior knowledge to the incident and didn’t stop it then tried to cover it up. Deserves the ban.

Deserves a ban, yes. Deserves the same 12 month ban as Warner, in my opinion, no

Yep, the magnitude of his actions have hit home hard.

This is what shites me... Smith is not guilty of any nefarious actions. It is his inaction that has got him in strife. How does his inactions result in bigger sanctions than warners actions. This is f****

Extremely hard to watch. Think once Warner speaks and the dust settles, more will come out about Smith just over hearing the other two hatching the plan, and he is guilty of doing nothing. Think he can earn the respect back from his team mates and the public. Going to need lots of support in the immediate future though.

Sutherland mentioned community service not community cricket I thought?
If they get involved with what I said at their grade club I'd be satisfied.

I guess that's what happens when Warner hides under his rock. Mind you, it's where he belongs.

Thanks whufc. Think the public will be on his side after how he has accepted the blame and taken responsibility. And was all Warner's idea!

In the initial presser Smith said It was a leadership decision... he inferred it was his decision. It wasnt.... he took the fall. He offered his head on a platter... and Sutherland eagerly accepted.
Smith was a weak leader. That is all hebis guilty of. This is like suspending the teacher because the naughty boy got into mischief. But... the principalnis accountable for the teacher right?
This is an inustice... but because Smith is the person he is he will not appeal... we wont hear from him for 12 months. Meanwhile Warner will appeal..
Or appear on 60 mins for a fee...

agree. The bloke who orchestrated the entire thing (IMO) has failed to front the media. Coward and idiot.

Those two were terribly broken.

However, for those that say it was harsh, I think this is a great day in Australian sport. No longer will we tolerate the pigheadedness and boorish behavior of the Australian cricket team who've lost touch with the Australian values - play hard, play fair.

What's disappointing is that Boof was in charge and now says "we need to be more like NZ". You were in charge Boof, you could've changed it but you've let the team get to this stage. For that, you should go too.
