Par round.
-1 after 9.
Then went with two halves before my ball ended up in the dry dam....must got a bad bounce as it wasnt that wild down the right.....found it but didnt realise it was quicksand....lol....looked quite solid and then as my right foot followed my left foot and came out with muddy shoes and my ball still down there....******* idiot!!! Lol
Then just lost the plot from there....finished with a par on 18...index 1 just to show the group i have untapped ability....lol

-4 for the day.
Last i looked leader was on +8

Kingston Links (Not Kingston Heath) FPLMA Golf Day Thursday March 22.

Note to self - Read the invite closer next time! Kingston Links is an OK track not very long (we were off the white tees) some tricky greens and well positioned bunkers. But to be honest, I wouldn't be rushing back. Fair to so Kingston Links is not on the Sandbelt..... Claybelt maybe?

The company I work for are major suppliers to the label & packaging industry, so its appropriate that we support those who support us. Boss asked me to get a group together and participate in this golf day. Many of our bigger customers were unable to make it along, so I ended up pulling a team together of a few lads from the smaller clients. One of whom plays off 2.... handy!

Met in the tidy enough clubroom just before noon for a light lunch and pre game ale. Standard gift pack on arrival, sleeve of balls, golf towel etc.

Pre booked Carts for the day. We started on the 14th, which just happened to be one of the designated drinks holes. Beers all round & off we go! A few decent drives on this par 5, we select the 2 markers, and have a crack at getting home in 2. My 3 wood comes up about 15 metres short of the green on the upslope, and was the one we chose. Huge green here, and we have probably 50-60 metres to the pin. I pulled a shot out of my ar$e and holed the chip - Eagle you bloody beauty!

Birdie followed at the next par 4. Got a good drive away at the reachable par 4 16th, just on the front edge. At this stage my playing partners are calling me an absolute burglar..... reality soon set in and I hit some fair crap for a while, however both our 2 & 8 marker carry us along.

The lad off 30 was struggling until he hit 2 great shots on the par 5 - 1st hole (another drinks stop) to set up an Eagle putt, which was duly holed.

By this stage I realise we are off to a flyer and are 7 under the card through 9 holes. We arrive at the long drive hole, and I absolutely smoke one down the middle.... only for the 2 marker in my team to nut me by 10 metres to pinch the longest drive award off me ($50 voucher to the pro shop). This sets up our third Eagle of the day. We complete our back nine holes in 6 under for a score of 13 under - 59 (its a par 72 layout) for a 51.25 after handicap. Now I know that is going to be hard to beat.

A few post round beers are followed by a dinner (nothing flash) and the awards.

We won the day on a countback, securing the trophy & a Cleveland Golf Bag each. Then I back it up by winning the second prize in the raffle a Walkingshaw Buggy (see separate buy/sell thread as I am selling both items). First prize by the way was a Callaway Rouge Driver - so decent prizes on offer.

Met a few new blokes, and got chatting to one of the organisers who I understand is a big wig on the VGA (Victorian Golf Association) he has subsequently now sent me an e-mail, and an invitation to play at his home course - Growling Frog. Nice.

Caught a magic carpet ride home..... no idea how I got there, just woke up & realised I was home. Mrs C not happy.

Flagstaff Hill yesterday, played the back 9 first.
Rained for the first 2 holes, I’ve had an 8 and a 6 - why the f#ck am I out here?
Turned things around and ended up having 38 pts but felt like I still left 4-5 out there.
The course itself... growing up I was a junior member at The Vines (Marino at the time) some 25+ years ago. Back then Flaggy was always considered a much better course. Not now. I don’t think it holds a candle to The Vines in any aspect.
The course was overgrown, greens were below average condition and many fairways needed attention. It reminded me of Belair (RIP) which we played often as youngsters.
I recall it being more challenging than I found it yesterday, maybe my memory is fading...
Disappointing.

Yep totally agree and the comparison to Belair is spot on, especially after 2006 when Belair started to deteriorate.

Well i hope he has 45pts....then the Roos wont be winning. No hope of a daily double!!

The opposition must be red hot if it will cause his game to lift accordingly...

Tuesday comp yesterday was Par and the less said the better! 3 down after 4 holes turned after 9 at 2 down but ended up 6 down! Yep 6

Just had a shocker this sums my day up I teed off from the wrong tee blocks on 18  my biggest concern was I only had 3 halves, it was either a good hole or a bad one.

Had a hit today just to confirm it was a one off and sadly it wasn’t. I was better today but still not great 9 holes- 43 off the stick 18 putts, 16 points
