They should dump the ryobi cup (or play in April or something) and start the Sheffield Shield season early next year. Give the players across the country 5 or 6 games before the 1st Test. Pick the best 6 in form. You couldn’t make a strong case for any of the top 6 to be a certain starter.

Pick the team on form in the right format? Thats a novel idea. It won't catch on.

Agreed. Play most of the shield games before Christmas, then you could play the one day Comp straight after the big bash if you wanted to coincide with when we usually play one day internationals

Think it would interfere with our International series. Play the Pakis in ODI’s and T20 in the UAE during October and then come straight back to Australia for ODI and T20 series against the Saffers which leads into November and then the tests against India start almost straight away

20 tests 75 wickets at 25 including a test hat-trick

Definitely was hampered by injuries.

I felt he played a bit more than that tbh

I reckon most of them were overseas to. The Warne dropped catch in adelaide would have given him 2 hatties

I reckon Fleming would have been a few kms quicker than Sayers which made him more effective.

Yep started as a fast bowler with a hair halfway down his back rock guitar god styles in the late 80s.

The bowlology skills came late but he was still able to send it down at 130.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Thats how Australia would play it but the saffers will want to get 500 in front, theyre always thinking make sure we cant lose first then go for the win. Id even be surprised if they declared before lunch

Why would they give the aussies the slightest chance? In this case i think there better off being conservative and just batting as they already lead the series, especially with morkel out injured for the second innings.

the only way we can possibly square the series is if they give us a sporting declaration.

i would bat 1.5 sessions today and get 500+ in front, and have 5.5 sessions to bowl Australia out

Id be making the Aussies stay in the field for as long as I could. They just want to come home I reckon, so the Saffers can inflict some serious mental disintegration here. We deserve it too.

Bad light has stopped play. I had not considered the weather, that may throw a spanner in the works and may see an earlier declaration
