Any truth to Chris Minns coming back to the shoes

Possibly not the Shoe. A GSFL club is also in the frame.

Noarlunga have already lodged the transfer online... In fact they did this on the 20th of March.

With Round 1 only 9 days away, here are my thoughts and ladder predictions for the 2018 season;

1. Flagstaff Hill - A strong chance to complete the 3-peat in 2018. Judging by the clearances, which can be hard to decipher, it appears they go into the new season with a similar list to 2017. If anything, maybe slightly weaker, which would be music to the ears of the chasing pack.
2. Cove - Despite some well publicised back-stabbing in the off season, the new coach has put together what looks like an extremely talented list. My pick to make a big jump in 2018.
3. Noarlunga - The departure of some of the Goolwa boys back to the GSFL makes the Shoes weaker on paper, but in saying that, Ferguson and BGK didn't offer a whole lot in 2017 due to injury. Copestick out is also a big loss, but is off-set with the inclusion of Minns. Would expect more recruits to come through during the season to plug any gaps. Always competitive.
4. Reynella - Will return to finals action in 2018 after a disastrous 2017. The return of Semple and a whole year from Minns, Carter and co. will ensure a rise up the table. Probably still a step behind the Top 3.
5. Port Noarlunga - Have they recovered from the cheating scandal of last years final series? Time will tell, but with their better players getting older, how long can they continue to be competitive? The Cockies final finishing position very dependent on their injury list as the season progresses.
6. Christies Beach - New coach/es should bring some excitement and enthusiasm to the boys down at Bice Oval. The inclusion of Hodge is a big one, and will add some grunt to the midfield. Showed promise at times last year, but can they take the next step in 2018? Jury is out.
7. Happy Valley - From all reports have recruited well in the off season, but this was a necessity, after a dismal 2017. Would be happy to have Lawry off the books after paying big dollars for very little return. The retirements of a few older heads will see them go in young in 2018, which will yield some benefit in future years. Will still be off the pace in 2018.
8. Morphett Vale - The new coach has been popular! A mass exodus of players will see the largest suburb within the SFL struggle in 2018. A strong-ish B grade in 2017 will see them hold greater depth than the Sharks in 2018, and should be enough to see them avoid winning the spoon. Played in the A grade GF in 2016 and 2018 will complete a stunning fall from grace. Will still trouble some sides on their home deck.
9. Aldinga - The wooden spooners for season 2018 with their only possible wins coming against a struggling Morphett Vale side. Have hung tough for the last decade, but the departures of some of their better players will see them return to the bottom of the pile. Unfortunate.

Two sleeps until the start of another season and we finally get to see how teams have progressed or regressed over the summer.

For what it's worth, my tips for the round are:

Christies V Aldinga - will be interested to see how the playing coach role works for the Saints this year
Happy Valley V Flaggy - expect to see the Falcons continue their recent winning ways against the rivals down the road
Noarlunga V Reynella - the Wineflies to have improved from 2017, but no match for the Shoes here
M/Vale V Cove - how will the Cobras go with a young coach in 2018? Think they get the win in this one to start his year off well.
