Cant be to many times a bloke has won a flag at 1 club and come back 4 yrs later to the same comp but joined a diffrent club.

Do United have 26 points or something this year?

Not quite, the league has been generous and given us 23. :D

Quick silly question but can anyone answer me why our league start 2weeks later then most other leagues?

I heard the league has allocated Virginia 4 extra player points for this season on Monday night, to a total of 12 (I think).

Finishing position since 2009: 3, 2, 2, 2, 4, 4, 1, 2, 4

Nine years since the Rams missed the finals, played in a grand final five of those nine. Not exactly a charity case IMO.

No, presumably due to the lack of a bye and holding 16 H&A games plus four weeks of finals takes us to mid September, which seems like an appropriate time to wrap things up.

That is absurd if true (doesn't surprise me if it is)

We have finished 6th 5 years in a row and for being so consistent, we get rewarded by losing 2 points from last year.

Points system needs a total revamp, if they are giving away points like that. No justification for it whatsoever.

Virginia battling for numbers. Refusing to clear a member of their B grade premiership side from last year back to his original junior club, despite saying he isn't part of their A grade plans.

Well, it is within the rules. The league has the discretion to allocate points if need be.

Mythical creature united have probably had 12-15 points for the past 6 years. Have a look at your own backyard spending thousands of dollars recruiting ex AFL and SANFL has Beens who are only there for the dollar. Virginia’s been successful for a decade and unfortunately with 7 points for that period it’s hard to maintain a healthy list.

Just under a week until Round 1 so here are my predictions for the season:

Premiers - Two Wells
Runners Up - Mallala
Wooden Spoon - Hamley Bridge
Big Improvers - United

Producer Medal - Lachy Michael
Runner-Up - Jordan Clements

Virginia - Look likely to drop off a bit. Will be competitive as always but can't see them as a danger for the flag.
Angle Vale - Should improve again but can't see them winning too many more than those vs Hamley Bridge
Two Wells - A side that works well together and they've got pretty much the same squad that won the flag.
Mallala - Look to have dropped off a bit but will still be well up there. The loss of Harris is a big one at CHF but still see them as a real threat for the flag.
United - Looking to be big improvers, but how many times have we said that before? Look to have recruited depth, which they haven't had in the past 10 years or so. Could be real challengers if they can keep everyone on the park.
Hamley Bridge - Another long year for the Bridge. Can't see them winning a game, but could potentially steal one from Angle Vale if they have an off day.
Balaklava - Will be a good side again but just don't think we have the firepower of Two Wells, Mallala etc.
HWE - Should improve again and should be looking at finals. Some good ins and should be aiming for a finals berth. Anything can happen from there.
