I thought Howard was pretty good in the ruck yesterday. Interestingly watching FootySA on Sunday, Stephen Rowe said he watched Frampton at SANFL level and said straight up he's not ready for AFL yet.
Was difficult watching Port yesterday, thought they appeared to lack urgency and control with ball in hand. Silly ball handling errors, and at times telegraphed ball movement created turn over after turn over.
I thought DBJ was pretty average, McKenzie was in and out of the game - used the ball ok, but did stuff all, and didn't create any line breaking runs or kicks - he's got a weapon for a kick, would've liked to see it used more instead of a short 20m chip.
Motlop and Rockliff were yuck, but thought Marshall was good - they missed him in the last quarter.
Jack Watts can use the ball, but geez he looks stoned at times - if Port can get Dixon forward all game, think i'd prefer to see Watts as the 2nd tall deep forward, and move Marshall to CHF.
Personally I thought Essendon led Port to the ball more often than not, were willing to put their head over it - but more importantly, more often than not, played in front, and were able to take mark with general ease.
Would be lovely if Polec could kick on his right too.
Port were lucky not to lose by 10 goals, scoreline flatters the performance.
