You're really gonna hold it against a bloke for finishing his race at the Commonwealth Games that he's worked so hard for?

Couldn't even name the bloke so I can't hold it against him, but if the Comm Games medal is worth more than being a good human then I under rated the Comm games.

so you wanted him to be the 16th person to hover over the Scot did you?

Correct me if I'm wrong but is this the Australian you're all saying should have stopped?

Of course not, he was in a race.

Interesting take on this Booney. I had this type of opinion pegged for hysterical middle aged women wanting people to think of the children with no knowledge of sport or the medical fraternity.

Play on indeed.

Made me sick watching on the news all the spectators on the fence taking photos, staring at him, and then a journo/photographer standing over him taking photos.. not one person offered shade or water or anything! Just stood and stared!

Ashamed to be an Aussie seeing that.. and how there is not an ambulance or emergency staff on standby for an event like a marathon is beyond me!

Unless any of you have run a marathon, you have no right to judge.

Can't compare stopping after running for 40km to John Landys 1500m run.

If the Australian had made the Scot fall over and didn't stop - well then there may be some argument.

I've never run a marathon, but i'm sure it would be very difficult to stop/start - especially after that distance. I suspect it's one of those things once you start and find a rhythm you cant stop until the finish or else your body will just shut down.

So i'm with you.

Also if I was running a marathon and saw a guy on the ground, I would think there would be support staff and trained professionals nearby rushing to help, so no need for me to get involved, he'd be in safer hands.

So we can only ever have an opinion on something we've actually done?

Rules out lots of things for me and will make this a pretty boring place.*

I made one this morning.

2 eggs, one tomato diced, some onion and capsicum with a bit of cheese to top finished with cracked black pepper. Was delicious.
