Port Adelaide 2018

Talk on the national game

Maybe the reason it is taking so long is because AFL, Port and SPP don't want it to go to the Police but it will if the girl doesn't get the punishment she wants?
Just a thought...

Yeah thats a possibility
.If thats the case does that mean that an AFL player is subkject to different laws to the rest of the nation?

You would think that if there was categorical evidence that he didn't do it and could definitively say that, then it would have been dealt with by now.

However, looking at the 4am footage of SPP i don't think he would be in a position to categorically supply evidence.

He might claim he's done nothing wrong but he's also a pretty unreliable witness based on his condition at the time.

Not at all, but it would need the girl to press charges for Police to get involved...

Is that necessarily the case? I would have thought that if SAPOL had sufficient evidence whatever that may be, then they would be able to proceed further despite whether or not she wanted to pursue the matter. This is just a question though so I may be totally wrong.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

I meant it both ways, AFL players being held to higher account than the rest of the nation but also have the ability to buy or negotiate behind closed doors a suitable outcome.

Yeah that’s the difference as Joe Blow on the street doesn’t have that ability to buy or negotiate behind the scene to get a favourable outcome for themselves.
Hush money as it used to be called.

Listening to Hartlett last night, it sounded like SPP would play SANFL next Wednesday. Would mean Atley comes into the side i think with Rockliff unlikely to be fit

Port Adelaide advises the AFL investigation into an alleged incident involving Sam Powell-Pepper at an Adelaide bar on Sunday 8 April is still ongoing.

Given the investigation is still continuing, Sam believes his focus has been compromised ahead of Saturday night’s game and therefore has decided to make himself unavailable for selection.

If anyone is to blame it’s Sam.
Hopefully the AFL is investigating this in full for everyone’s sake.

The original C7 report which I saw and posted on here, she said that , not verbatim, that after she had told him to go, that he tried to grab another 3 or 4 girls.

This may be what is prolonging any investigation.

I agree totally that AFL players are treated to a different standard, both ways.

I disagree.

A bloke who strangled a woman and 2 innocent children out near Gawler got 21 years. You can't tell me that's not getting off light.

Plenty of people front the courts and get a slap on the wrist, not just footballers, part of the reason we've got so many repeat offenders on the streets.

But I digress.

I was not talking only court appearances. What makes news was more what I was thinking, sideswiping a car at Norwood, only made the news because it was an AFL player.
