I suspect he is looking for a win/win situation if they make the GF again, although I also suspect he would be more than happy to lose his $

They've got 3 of their best mids missing, a skipper who is just getting up and running after a interrupted preseason, their best small forward was pre occupied with family matters and will soon return and they've found a replacement for Lever and will be 7-2 in a few weeks time and set for another top 4 finish.

The window is closing on a few this year, it won't be shut, but it's closing and they won't let another opportunity slip like they did last year.

Whilst it's a possibility, it's also possible injuries interrupt them all season (as can happen to all clubs). B Crouch I reckon takes a while to get going when he returns from lengthy lay-offs and I still wouldn't back them to beat Richmond at the G in a final as things stand.

Dunno if it's coz I'm just an old bugger or the fact the modern comp is so even but it seems harder than ever to crystal ball these days.

That's a rather grim forecast Boon....

In one of the Hawks premiership years they had Mitchell, Gibson and a couple of other key players miss 8-10 weeks of the season, if managed correctly it can be a positive as they are fresher come September.

also gives our depth players a chance to play a bit more, which hasnt happened in the last two years.

So getting games into galluci, poholke, murphy, milera, CEY etc to see if they are truly up to it is somewhat a positive. And from the game on the weekend there were good signs

Having said that I would still rather the crouch boys and sloane get out there

M. Crouch yes but forget B. Crouch he cant stay on the park. Keep playing the younger fitter kids at the moment.

I think Friday night showed the benefit of having fit players on park instead of guys carrying injuries.

yeah cant argue with that. the way galluci cracked in at the start of the match was seriously impressive.

didnt do a whole lot throughout the game but did enough in patches to suggest he is worth persevering with. and yes, he was more effective than sloane on one leg

Bullshit. Winning it is the hard part. Ask any Cat fan! We've made 8 in 30 years and won 3. Better than Glenelg I suppose.

I'd give anything to be that mediocre again....

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
