Players' boss says investigations 'may have gone too far' http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-05-02/off ... line-aflpa

I agree with the AFLPA here. Police and the clubs should be the ones to handle this, unless it’s something really big

Smacks of trying to protect the reputation of the AFL rather than actually have the players or victims interests at heart

The AFLPA should hang their heads in shame on this one. SPP had no AFLPA representative with him when interviewed by the "Integrity" Department, only a PAFC representative, the AFLPA allowed the AFL to hand down a suspension to one of it's members without the AFLPA, the club or the player being allowed to review the full report and it's findings.

There's very few bodies capable of holding the AFL to account and the AFLPA is one of them. They failed SPP in this instance, without question.

Unfortunately a young girl was put it a position that she didn't feel comfortable in and from there on the whole story has been handled incredibly poorly by several parties.

I'm sick of the AFL telling us they've investigated something and their findings are final. How many times do they investigate themselves and find no wrong doing?

The tradition continues. Chad Cornes suspended for one game for swearing at Todd Goldstein.
Sadly it seems Chad still thinks he's part of the action.

A bloke I worked with years ago, young lad at the time, played a handful of games for the Panthers.

His league debut was against Port at Alberton. His first opponent was Paul Northeast.

He reckons Arnfield spent the whole first quarter in South's F50 yelling to Port players where to run and yelling at South players about how shit they were.

Interesting take on the SPP saga from Penbo this morning on 5AA. He reckons the girl didn't go to the police because her family is deeply religious and if her parents found out she was at a nightclub she would be in big trouble with them.

“There’s one missing piece of the jigsaw, and it comes up time and time again,” Penbo said on Thursday…

“Why didn’t the woman go to the police, why did the woman only go to the media?

“The reason she didn’t go to the cops is that she comes from an extremely strict religious family -- not a Christian family, but a very strict religious family -- the type of religion where your parents would be deeply unimpressed you were in a nightclub at all.

“She was obviously fired up by what allegedly happened… but she was only prepared to tell the story anonymously because she didn’t want her parents to know she was knocking around in a nightclub in the middle of the night.”

Can you imagine how the players of yesteryear view things like this.
They must p*ss themselves laughing at what they use to do.

Runners who think their part of the game should be banned.

Your a glorified Posty, deliver your message and piss off ffs

Could you imagine in cricket the 12th man coming out to deliver the fresh batting gloves and gobbing off at the bowlers

If you want to run around mouthing off at people then you should get treated like a player and watch someone blindside you with the sweetest hip and shoulder.
