Hope springs eternal.

Saints need at least one more win and their grand final is on 8 May at Swansea. Going to be tight. Hard to see Huddersfield getting any more points as they play Manchester City (A), Chelsea (A) and Arsenal (H), which is Wenger's last Premier League game. So, I think the safe mark for Saints, Swansea and Stoke could be 35 pts.

We need treat this week at Everton as a final. Deal with Swansea after that.
We can’t be relying on point(s) against City in our last game.

Wrong thread but it would be good to have Liverpool win the European Cup and Arsenal the Europa Cup, a European double.
They’ll be telling us we won’t be able to play in Europe after Brexit next

They still have a very slight pulse but still need a miracle to stay up.

Poor decision by the ref:
Soton are desperate for points. Referee gives a free to Everton that never was, then allows them to take it from at least 20 yards further down field, A handful of passes later and Everton score. The implications of Southampton gaining one point or three are huge. The linesman was stood no more than 10 yards away from the incident and did not see a need to raise his flag, yet the referee, who was 30-40 yards away, calls a free.

Every team has their hard luck stories over the season, but Saints will reflect on this incident and the clown who punched the ball into the net at Watford. Those 4 points would have us safe and sound. Have to get it done at Swansea Wednesday morning.

What a final day in the Championship!
Relegation spots changed about half a dozen times and with under 10 minutes to go Burton were safe and Bolton were going down. Bolton then proceeded to score twice in a minute to take the lead and stay up.
Fulham blew their chance of auto promotion so we are stuck with Cardiff in the EPL next season
