Only because we all thought that the tribunal was due to be inconsistent again.

Strange.

Fwiw I think "contact with an umpire" has degrees as the tribunal has identifed but I now have a problem explaining to my 9 yo soon that some contact with an umpire is ok and some isn't. In ruling these incidents as fines once again the AFL send a mixed message to all and sundry.

Not sure how Neeld gets sacked and Worsfold gets a 2 year extension.

Neeld was causing a huge rift in the club since he was promoted this year. Apparently was ok in his previous role but has been a nightmare in this role and several other assistants threatened to walk if something wasn’t done. He technically wasn’t sacked, they made his role redundant and he didn’t want to return to his old position.

Anyone seen Benny?

Watched the last 1/4 of the showdown for the first time last night, not sure the Crouch mark should have been paid after Wingard's kick, which in turn gave McGovern the shot on goal to get in front.

Laird's attack on Motlop before the goal was cringe worthy, he tried to zone defend him when he just needed to go straight at him and apply some sort of physical pressure to stop his run.

4 Crows within 2-3 meters of Motlop when he kicked and not one threw the body on the line to put him under pressure.

There’s been a few “vocal” posters who seem to have lost their voices this week.

The others probably couldn't have got there, TV made them look closer than they were, but Laird was a traffic cone. The zone defence has messed with footballers minds IMO, the natural impulse to run straight at the ball carrier has be reduced significantly.

Still trying to work why Atkins just didn’t tackle Motlop instead of trying to smother. Losing control of the game in the last 8 minutes of the 3rd was why we lost. I found the end of the 3rd more concerning than the last 40 seconds.

Just have a look where he should have ran compared to where he actually ran...terrible...he gave Motlop the time and space to allow him to make whatever decision he wanted.

It’s Atkins not Laird. Had he not deviated he should have been able to tackle

It wasn't ideal from Atkins, having said that Motlop has a step that has and will make a lot of blokes look silly.

Agree, if he had got around him by going straight at him you cop it, but he had all the space he wanted to execute the move. He may have slowed him enough for one of the other close Crow players to lay a tackle.
