This is the money the AFL secured from the Victorian Government for locking in the AFL GF at the MCG.

Well done AFL, something for the Australian part of the Australian Football League.

Hope not.

Also havn't cricket Victoria just got Junction Oval as their new base for all games not played at the MCG? I'm sure that facility opened up this season just gone.

That does sound right. Perhaps that part not correct but the football part comes from a disgruntled Hawthorn source who is normally pretty reliable.

Apparently so. Hawthorn are now seeking AFL assistance to help fund their proposed $80 million move from Waverley to Dingley. Perhaps have been told no.

Cats have already fleeced millions off the government and at the end of the day it’s still a boutique stadium.

We all glossed over this one last weekend, you reckon Lynch is going to stay?

NEAFL Round 6 - Brisbane Lions 12.24 96 def Gold Coast Suns 0.4 4

The winless Lions reserves hold the Suns to 4 points.

Unfortunately i reckon hes Hawthorn bound. Unless the rules change and something like zones are brought in i think its a massive waste of money.
I reckon Rance's comments last week were of someone who knew he wasnt going to Richmond, no other reason to say what he did.

I can't see him going to a club who isn't going to be a premiership chance in the next 10 years. He's got more chance of a flag going to St Kilda IMO

Plenty of players go to clubs that arent in a premiership window, theres things more important like the surf and homecomings ;)

Is the top 8 pretty well set already? Which of the sides outside are serious contenders to push in by end of year?

Hawthorn and Collingwood are out on percentage, a little inconsistent though and GWS are half a win out but look a shadow of the side they've been in recent years, and have only won 1 out of their last 5 games.

Hard to see any of the other sides impacting the 8.

I reckon GWS and Collingwood are the most likely to jump into the eight from outside it, but yeah the top 11 at lest looks set and the top 6 are pretty much certainties I would think

GWS have a tough run home : all the bold currently above them on the ladder.

Ess, Ade, GC, Bris, Haw, WC, Rich, Port, St K, Ade, Syd, Mel

Collingwood :

WB, Freo, Mel, Carl, GC, Ess, WC, NM, Rich, Syd, Bris, PA, Freo.

On that draw, current form & injuries - the Giants look shot.
There’s usually very few (if any) changes to the top 8 after round 9. This year however IMO looks tighter and may very well go down to the wire who plays finals.

agreed, on current form

but at their best they will give most teams a run for their money. will depend on how quickly they get all their players back and whether they can regain form.

yep, you only have to be 5% off and you get spanked - as evidenced by the crows' lost to Essendon and Collingwood

for all the talk about the game being in strife, it has been more even in the past 3 years than it ever has, which is great
