Standard Prospect recruiting. Thought they may have learnt from previous attempts. Need to do more other than band aid solutions. Another Club (southern / northerns / Port) that should get more support from SACA in terms of young talent catchment. Unless the talent is there but Club have retention / coaching issues?

SACA don't seem to have as much to do with the grade clubs and talent id anymore. I remember when each grade club had their own development officer. Now the schools and national Cricket Australia programs seem to be the focus. Grade clubs left to fend for themselves a bit more. The clubs with good structures have continued along fine. The ones who perhaps relied heavily on SACA support have struggled.

the junior program at Prospect from all reports is getting better but they still seem to lose 2-4 players every year from the 14's & 16's to other clubs. And replace these reasonably talented crickets with the off cuts of the stronger clubs.

I know its a long time ago but Southerns used to have a really strong junior system and have started to pick it up again in the last few years. I see the main issue with Southerns is the standard of there grounds outside of Bice oval.
there under 16's were the only under 16 club to still play on hard wicket which hinders development, and then they play the 3rd and 4th grade cricket on Christie's Beach High school which is the worst ground in senior cricket!

I feel for a lot of there younger senior cricketers trying to score runs on that wicket with an incredibly slow outfield every home game!! This causes players to leave for other clubs or cease playing cricket altogether.

You forgot the square at Christies is short by about 3m.......square stops at the stumps each end. Not recommended by CA in their design guidelines!

Miller isn't captain. Nick Lopez is. I believe that Andrew Zesers is still coaching.

SACA are too focused on working on these areas to get their participation numbers up so they can obtain more funding. Kids or even adults, only have to play five sessions of cricket to be in participation numbers even if that if just a school training session with a player or development officer.

Was told recently by a very high SACA official who said there is concern over the country about the lack of people playing any level of club cricket to the point where they think numbers have dropped by nearly 30%. Only have to look at the number of competitions that have decreased in SA to see that is going that way.

The concern on the game with club players, that’s why most community/country cricket will end up T20, along with lower grades at Premier, to a point only 2 day cricket might only be 1s and 2s Premier. All lower grades will be 50 / 20 over cricket.

Prospect have a number of juniors in their A grade squad . McKenzie (15) and Cluse(16) both in squad and both in SACA under 17 squad. Plus a number of other, not a bad way to build

They'd surely want one too and it's used by little athletics as well. I'm sure they'd love some amenities. Smart schools get upgrades to their facilities for free

Probably but you have seen the Yatala fencing protecting the buildings? Anything would get wrecked by the locals!

Principal is probably anti sports anyway.

You are normally pretty spot on with your goss, and while this makes bit of sense, I just can't see him leaving Woodville. Last year there were rumours he was going to Port, but did not happen. His old man heavily involved at Club which makes it more interesting!

Money talks though, and he does rate his batting!

White ball skipper and opening the batting in shorter form and batting 4 in red ball I believe is the offer. Already bats in top order at Woodville so the $$ is doing the talking.
