Better than me, at least you played 5 holes. I’ve knocked off for the week and straight to the pub!

Almost a hole in 1 on the 2nd...was straight at the flag....im giving the NTP a run for its money with those behind
Apparently 2 hole in ones on 12. One guy had 1 x 6

Ended up with 38pts.
My putting was a highlight. Sinkin putts left, right and centre

Approaching 18th from just under 100m pin cut to the left so you had to go over the bunker.....i did that and hit the path....bounced out onto the 10th. Flop shot back across and hit the path again but stayed on the green right over the far side....

You will need to fetch them out of the dumpster first.

Bundoora Park.

This course has two things in its favour.
1. It’s 12 minutes from where I now live.
2. The Bundoora pub is on the way home.

First hit since March. It was awful. For those playing along at home (SA) Bundoora golf course is a bit like the old Belair, not as hilly though.

Before I left home I hadn’t decided if it was going to be a 9 hole hit or the full 18. I would make my mind up going by the amount of cars in the car park.

Car park not even half full but 3 groups waiting to hit off the first... 9 holes thanks.

Joined a pair waiting to hit off, so we jumped over to the 10th. Par 3, duffed my tee shot, flicked a wedge in, 2 put green for bogey. Another bogey on 11, for the type of start I expected having not played since March. Even the double on 12 was not unexpected. Followed that up with back to back triples! Then a god awful quadruple bogey... I really don’t care to comment about the remaining holes!

Good weather, just the old puff of breeze and while it’s just a public track, you get what you pay for so no complaints there.

In the pub now looking at the fields and pretending golf never even happened. With Old farts cricket in the summer, umpiring footy in the winter I don’t see myself getting back into serious golf anytime soon.

At least a few of Spargo’s lads had a laugh at my expense!

Played the Dunes on Sunday, course was paying back to front with a Northerly blowing, it is designed with the wind coming form the south, made the first 3 holes hell as they are usually all down wind. I took a 10 on the first just to get the day off to a great start  anyway front 9 was a write off....55 horrible.

Anyway on the 13th a guy playing on his own snuck up on us and we asked if he wanted to play thru, he said yes but Im playing 3 balls! oaaaaky.

He proceeds to tee up 3 balls 6 inches apart from each other, gets out his bladed 7 iron and hits the first to 6 feet, before it lands he is lining up the next one rapid fire style...landed all 3 within 10 feet of the hole, was done in 3 mins.

It was a blessing as I then realised I have nothing to lose and to try his style of not over thinking every shot, tee it up/line it up/step up and hit it, proceeded to play the last 6 holes 3 over and came in with a 46 hitting the last 4 fairways (id hit one all day) and 3 greens in reg out of the last 4.

Such a ******* mental game

Anyway great day out there and course in great nick, Ill see if I can post a photo, the greens are absolutely superb and keep with their rep of the best in SA.

I love links golf, it suits my style of not hitting many fairways, but usually still have a shot at the green even if hitting out of the shit and not having to hit out sideways from under trees.

I dont mind that drill warming up pre-round....line up the balls and just keep the arms swinging as you move from the 1st ball on...
