Agree with his disposal. At least he has been able to stay consistent with his pressure and intent. Has 82 tackles for the year so far ranked 7th in the comp. Wines is next best for us with 53

JK wrote:One thing I don't think I've seen Port commended on much (if at all) is their player list and TPP state. According to a commentator recently, basically said "It's widely known Port has more Cap space than any other club". Nearly fell off my chair when I heard that. Absolutely outstanding wheeling and dealing given the large number of quality players on their list.

It has been mentioned in here at some stage.

Was discussed at the Members Convention that Port "nearly" landed another FA last year and will be well placed to be in the market for another at the end of this season as well as having 1 first round pick, 2 second round picks and a third round pick in the upcoming draft.

Excellent list management by Davies and his team. We'll be well placed to inject 4 kids into the program after we added 4 from the 2017 AFL draft. ( Hayes, Farrell, Patmore and Garner ).

How many years has Aaron Hall got on his contact? I know he requested a trade to us at the end of last year but it didn't eventuate. Had a good start to the season leading up to their bye, will be interesting to see if he wants to come here again at the end of 2018

EDIT - Just saw he is out of contract at the end of this year

He seems unwanted anyway up at the Gold Coast.

Yeah and i am not sure a heap of teams will be into him. The bloke can play, but has been a big liability on the defensive side. Without knowing all the details, one of the reasons Ken wasn't hell bent on getting him was because of his defensive pressure.

We took McKenzie, the Toump, Watts, Motlop, Trengrove and Thomas, I'd have him ahead of any of those.

Watts being the only one we traded for though. This year with him being a free agent we have more of a reason to take him if he is still keen to get here

Toumpas, too. Toumpas and 31 for 29, 54 and 66 or something.

Edite - Toumpas + 32 for 29,50 and 68. Not a bad guess!

I'm happy to talk about it in here as it's Port Adelaide related but the SANFL forum is a no go for me, impossible to have any sort of reasonable discussion in there.

I'd like to say X3 but it's too much fun stirring them up so you'll see me in there again.

Dickson looked better tonight outside 50 than deep forward, is he maybe more suited to a CHF role?

Dickson? He was out for the Dogs last night.

Dixon, for Port, can and does, play both roles. As Marshall develops the two will be interchangeable in the deep and high key forward posts.

In fairness an hour before the game it was ridiculously bad weather and the SES were advising people to stay indoors, there's no way I would have gone anywhere by choice.

Crowd was a little disappointing but given most country supporters and many families would have stayed at home and it was unlikely many Bulldogs fans would have traveled over I'm not really surprised it was under 30,000.

Thursday night, like Sunday twilight, is made for TV and not the fan going to the ground.

A couple of things where I think we can go forward from:

1: Keep Chad spending more time on the ball to give Robbie more time in the forward arc.

2: Let Rockliff off the leash now, don't use him as a run with, infact we don't have a great "run with" type player so they should just back themselves to win at least 60% of the positions on field.

26000 on a Thursday night

Is this the Lowest crowd at Adelaide oval for an afl game ??

Yes, only two other games have been under 30,000:
27935 Port vs GWS 2016
29340 Port vs Melb 2011

I'd argue that Ebert is our best option in a run with role.

Rocky was high in my best last night. 25 & 3, the perfect midfielders game.
