Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

Played Blackwood on Sunday- Cold, and areas of bog, but the greens still quick.

Hit the ball solidly enough but the short game was horrible. 24 points and I'm sure the Hcp is heading back out!

Going OK. Remarkably consistent (forgiving), but still haven't found the middle as much as I'd like.

Still fiddling* with setup etc.

Changed my Baffler to 18.5D

So off the 1st it went left out onto 10th.
And on the 10th I just duffed it left. Not sure what happened.
But outside of that it worked a real treat...

Had a few putts that narrowly missed.
The highlight was par 3 - 8th....hit a nice 8i that drew beautifully and went close...jagged the birdie and set a good NTP for others to get inside.

It was a bitterly cold morning.....gale force winds off the arctic.
Had the pleasure of seeing one of our own chip in on the 4th, while on the 2nd tee.
Managed a nice birdie on the 2nd.
Getting to the green on the 3rd at a high point on Mt Thaxted and then for a minute or so it rained....temperature dropped....ffs....
Then again on the 6th it rained for 2-3 minutes.
Outside of that it was just bloody cold.
Today felt more in the zone.
Ended up with a 87. Which I would have happily taken at the start of proceedings.

Thanks mate, one of those lucky chips i guess... have to agree on the conditions, we were on the 9th when we thought the world was going to end, couldn't walk forwards into that breeze... Freezing all morning wasn't it...

Had my first Sat comp hit for about 6-7 weeks and it went exactly how I thought it would! Sh!thouse.....

Monthly medal round therefore stroke. I walk off the par 3 1st with a 6 yep great start but I think to myself, Well the day can only get better! Tee shot on the 2nd straight in to the trees and I'm officially on suicide watch I was that angry.

finished with 90 off the stick nett 78 but with 39 putts

Highlight of my day was chipping in for Bridie on the 6th and Putting in for Birdie just off the green on 14. (Although this makes my putting even worse as I had 39 putts in effectively 16 holes)

Lowlights were no stableford points on 1 or 18. shanked chip on 18 that went 40m over the back of the green, and wearing shorts when it was freezing f**king cold.

Oh and now West End is $5  the price increase defiantly the lowest point of the day....

Hopefully be better this Saturday
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Anyone had a hit there lately?

Been there twice in last 6 months and heading back shortly as they are a reciprocal club.
Last time they had a temp hole a 80m par 3....not sure if thats in action still. Check the site, it may have more info.

Just pray it isnt too windy. Greens were a good pace. Not overly quick and not too slow.
Fairways were in good nick.
The par 3 'over the road' isnt hard...145m odd....but if the breeze is up the houses on the right are in play!!!

Dont dig it up too much.....i dont wanna go there and find Spargos earthmovers have been through the joint!!

Played Moonah, The Dunes, Rosebud & Eagle Ridge - haven’t played St Andrews yet. Will be interested to see your review.
Confirmed yesterday that on next year’s trip we’re playing Royal Melbourne then heading down the Mornington Peninsula to play Cape Schank & The National. Can’t come soon enough!

Call up and confirm your booking. Our lads (9) got there at 7.30 am and were told we had no booking and couldnt play cos pennants were on.

Luckily McCracken were accommodating and gave them a hit.

They come back and offered some free golf which is nice- first time we've had issues there, been going over 20 years.
