Will definitely be 48 sides at 2026 WC. Should be some really embarrassing scores

Yeah going to be some absolute beltings unless they change the format dramatically with the extra teams.

16 groups of 3 in the first round.
Think I heard 6 spots for CONCACAF. Mexico, USA, Canada auto qualify plus 3 others. Panama is the 3rd ranked CONCACAF side at this WC, imagine how bad 6th is. Canada wouldn’t beat an A-League side and they get an auto spot :(

El Salvador

i wouldnt have expected much more from panama with that performance really against England IMO

Not the biggest footballing nation when Sydney has more of a population then the whole country

It should be more teams but play offs for the smaller nations at the actual world cup finals.

But we dont want to go down the path of the larger nations well known, resting players for matches that mean something.

Hate to see the likes of Germany , playing fiji as an example and resting all their stars becuase they think they will go through anyway.

I think each team is only going to play 2 games in the first round. Which I think sucks. If you qualify, you should earn 3 games to justify the effort that goes into getting there. Which is why there should be no more than 32 teams to minimise the Saudi Arabias and Panamas.

I would love to see Oceanian get an automatic spot. Even though they'd get flogged, how up and about would all the nations be knowing there an actual chance of making the biggest event in the world

They won't go that low.
Would have been better off backing them to progress from the group stage, and then if confident, using that money to back them to win their round of 16 match as well.

They are already into $17's...from what I can work out they will play Denmark or Australia in R16 so they will make the final 8 IMO

They were $2.70 to get through the group stage though.
So they need to come in to 12s before the Round of 16 for you to break even.

We need to remember that Timmy hasn't played much for a long time. If Warren Joyce can't give hime time for Melbourne City and Neil Harris can't give him time for Millwall FC then it's hardly surprising that Bert hasn't used him. I believe Timmy is more value as a mentor than anything he can offer on field. That said I hope he gets on the park against Peru and scores.

I don't reckon he's forgotten how to nod one in the back of the net.
Give him the last 10-15 minutes, doubt he'd blow up in that time.

Agree

If he doesn’t come on for that last 15 against Denmark, when do you play him?

If he doesn’t come on then he probably shouldn’t be over there

Iran hit the side netting just before the end aswell. Inches away from going through and eliminating Portugal

Really looking forward to tonight's game, I think it will be a cracker. Peru are playing for pride and their supporters will outnumber the Aussies 3 to 1, so the atmosphere at the ground should be great. I'm sure they will have a very attacking mindset and will be looking for goals. Hopefully they leave a few gaps at the back and we can score a few. Aussies to get up 3-2.

I share your optimism but I don't see us scoring 3 goals. Australia 2-1.

Loading up on the 0-0 draw in the Denmark Francs game.

Unusually there hasn’t been a nil all draw at this World Cup yet.

With both teams qualifying via a draw and no real benefit finishing 1st or 2nd with Argentina likely to be our group winners opponents this has 0-0 all over it!!!

France 2-1
Peru 2-1
Croatia 3-0
Argentina 4-0
$394k for 10

Have also had a more realistic one where the Aussies and Denmark end up in the fair play decision

No stalemates but a boatload of penalties thanks to VAR...

Aussies need to learn how to score tonight. Mile has dispatched 2 spot kicks but we haven't scored from open play whereas Peru look lively. Let's hope the French can do a number on the Danes but as whufc said, a draw looks imminent!
