RD 12 Norwood Vs Port 1/7/18

Postby SABRE » Fri Jun 29, 2018 1:50 pm

Alberton Oval - Sunday - July 1st 2018
Reserves - 11.30 am
League - 2.10 pm

Norwood's new recruits finally jelled with the old guard in round 5 and have won every game since.
Port on the other hand have endured a rocky 2018, possibly due to players coming and going.
With 2 wins in a row now and with players possibly returning have Port turned the corner?

With Port desperate to crack the five and Norwood determined to keep moving further up the ladder,
this game has the potential to be the wildest ride since the 2014 Grand Final.
Every clash of the titans deserves a bumper crowd and given there's only a 10% chance of rain,
mostly in the morning down south, it's looking like nothing can put out the fireworks in this season
defining battle. Why does the term trainwreck come to mind?
For supporters of both clubs, it's a case of Sunday To Far Away !
:D
Luv,
Sabre.

PORT
League

Port Adelaide has regained two players off the long-term injury list for the contest against Norwood on Sunday.

Backmen Matthew Broadbent (ankle) and Jarrod Lienert (knee) have both proven their fitness to be named on the last line of defence.

It will be Broadbent’s first Macca’s League game this season while Lienert hasn’t lined up for the Magpies since Round 4.

They have been joined in the 23–man squad by Darcy Byrne-Jones, who was sent back by Power coach Ken Hinkley for arriving late to training on Monday.

SANFL-contracted trio Simon Wong, Mitchell Mead and Kyle Crompton have all been included on the five-man extended interchange bench.

The Pies will miss the midfield drive from Jack Trengove, who has been called up to play his first game for the Power against Carlton at the MCG on Saturday.

Fellow on-baller Joe Atley couldn’t be considered due to a back injury while defender Joel Garner will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his shoulder.

Lewin Davis was sent back to the Magpies’ Reserves.

NORWOOD
League

Norwood looks set to field an unchanged line-up for its clash with Port on Sunday.

The Redlegs have included small forward Caleb Edmead and utility Nick Pedro in their 23-man squad.

Both players have been listed on the extended interchange bench but coach Jarrod Cotton will be reluctant to tinker with the side which accounted for Glenelg in Round 11.

Lobethal FC product Peter Bampton will play his 50th Macca’s League game for the Redlegs.

"History in the making", one page on a "Port" Norwood game. Regardless of how many tweets the SANFL decision makers got, I think this is a pretty good barometer of the current condition of the SANFL.

No point making comments on the game, only gives you lot the opportunity to get on your high horse with your knickers in a twist.
