Having lived through a couple of years on an AAA I can say that every player wishing to join our club was closely scrutinised (record looked up and questions asked) and was advised by the Senior Coach and Chairman of the sanctions on the club. Before every game...A, B and C grade.....the players were reminded of their responsibilities and were told in no uncertain terms that if they did anything wrong they would have to answer to 70 odd blokes the following week face to face. Any yellow cards were given internal suspensions.

We got through a very tough period but from the chairman to the water boy, every person knew what we were dealing with and they had to adhere to the rules. It would have only taken one brain snap and all that good work would have been for nought. You can only do so much, then it’s up to the individual. I feel for SN and more so, I feel for the players that were doing their best to do the right thing.

It’s been made pretty clear numerous times the players were aware of this

Lucky Dutchy quoted it before Wasim edited the post:

Never thought I would see this in print but I have just read an article in the Advertiser online edition and it is a quote from JK as to the reason Alex Stengle had his appeal upheld and went from 8 games back to 5 as his playing record was such it didn't deserve the 8 game suspension.

The quote states " the original tribunal determined they did not factor in his player record"

Who said the tribunal members never make mistakes? That must have hurt having to admit they wronged!

Had there not been an appeal this mistake would have never been mentioned and Alex would have been robbed of the chance to play on at Salis North next year. Is this considered acceptable?

Sounds like the system worked perfectly.

There were others as well.

Ha, cheers. I coulda guessed the topic, just not the content. Yorkers, but not too bad.

We get to see the new set up at Iggies in early August, rumoured to be the best in Adelaide.

Makes it more disappointing then that it was an A grader that broke the camels back. You would expect some level of professionalism on and off the field from your A grade players especially when the majority are getting paid.

it makes a good point, 60 to 70 innocent players who have toe-ed the line now in the wilderness lost without footy to go to

id assume the league would argue the point that if a player can king hit someone, and all the team mates are able to just go down the street a week later and play for another club where else then that kills the integrity of AAA policy

its ok i can punch him, all me mates will just go play somewhere else OR if i punch if i will put my whole club out of football for the whole year

its a fine line

in my opinion, clearances should be blocked from that particular "team", he was an agrader so any "agraders" not permitted to clear elsewhere

but blocking under 18s, cgraders, b-graders is a little extreme

when i got arrested, i was charged for things i didnt do but because we did it as a "team" i had to cop the charges lol

Was another gutsy win, 4 goals in front in the 3rd only to see Iggies peg it back to even, a late goal to GG had them in front at 3/4 time from memory.
Great game of footy coupled up with a few visits to the ladies bar, most were half cut but still very tidy looking fillies.
Cheers and well done to GG again.
Very unlucky against Gaza as well, kicking with a 3-4 goal breeze in last and it pisses down from 3/4 time to the end of the game.

I've been reading this thread re SN with interest.
Other than putting every player on a financial bond of some sort ( legal eagles sort that out)
I'm not sure what else that Adfl could have done.
The bloke knocked the guy out and knew the consequences of his actions both personally and collectively as a club.
Brain fart or not king hits are a cowardly act, highly dangerous, and have to be stamped out.

My mail is that Salisbury North have realised over the weekend they might have been too smart for their own good by appealing Stengle’s case.

Apparently when they lodged their “show cause” letter at the end of last year, to show how they were going to address behavioural concerns, they told the league that any player caught intentionally striking would be given the boot for good.

Now when they apply to join in 2019, The league will probably ask if they’ve stuck to their own internal conditions let alone the leagues.

Mmm, imagine sacking one of their favourite sons. There’ll be burning of effigies on Bagster Rd
