Is Houghton the biggest under-achiever this season?
When are Mitchell Park going to absorb Flinders Uni and form one semi-decent club?
Will Ryan Wade kick 100 goals this year?
Is Dave Keetch a massive sandbagger?
Will anyone beat OSB?
Is the top 5 set?

Concussion and busted lip from getting snotted off the ball

Not sure why super quality footballers continue to think playing in the lowest divisions of the amateur league is a good idea.

flinders uni will never have to merge, theyre just a uni squad of bogans. the uni has all sorts of sporting teams, volleyball netball etc etc

mitchell park need to rename themselves to the Tonleys Lions.

no all houghton eyes are on the div 7 reserves flag

keetch is founder of sandbagging

for their own sake OSB will want to lose a game before the finals or face the undefeated curse

Didn't see him sandbag last year where the A grade lost every game and the B's were 1 and a half wins from playing finals. Hmmmm 8)

If Flinders Uni don't wanna merge, then let them have just one side and put it in the C grade divisions - at least they're more likely to be competitive from time to time.

Better ways to earn a buck, surely div 7 clubs don’t pay enough to be worth the drama

Yes to everything!

Don't think we've underacheived - lost some very close games early on and haven't had a great run with injuries in the last 6 weeks (Cam gone for rest of the year).

I don't think D7 has any more or less drama than any other division.

How frustrating this must be, you blokes haven't had a very favourable run over the past few years, especially Cam. He makes a massive difference to your side.

Do you have any ideas why you guys have such consistent bad runs with injuries over the years? Is it fitness levels or your ground or just bad luck?

I'd just say bad luck and unfortunate circumstances of being in the wrong spot at the wrong time.

The Bedge wrote:I'll revisit in the new year, but my initial gut feels based purely on face value, i'd have the pecking order looking somewhat like this:

1. OSBL Got this one right at least
2. Mawson Lakes 1x win and % off second
3. Central United Real disappointment
4. Houghton Districts Haven't lived up to my hype
5. Mitchell Park Eww
---------------------------
6. Marion Underestimated the Rams
7. TTG Such an unknown heading into the year
8. Flinders Uni Obviously I rated them too high
9. St Pauls Real surprise packet this year
10. North Pines Not playing anymore so i'll claim

Notes
* It's been well documented OSB are somewhere between D6 and D7 which I believe positions them better than most. Good call
* Mawson Lakes were a rabble last year, but still had a quality top handful. Add O'Gorman in the mix and a few handy recruits, they'll be comfortable in D7. Good call
* Central United have Woodward back, he'll win games off his own boot. Simple. Well the dumb **** has let me down here
* Houghton are similar to Mawson Lakes - good top group, but falls away. Their depth is better through the B grade than Lakes, but so far it appears the Mozzies have recruited better calibre than the Raiders. Prob pretty accurate.. good call
* Mitchell Park with a disrupted off season losing their coach and losing a swag of players down the road, be interesting to see how they can respond. Cant see much quality in depth through their club that will help late in the season when injuries hit. Good call, should've seen them lower than I did
* Marion I suspect may be mid table with some good wins and some close loses, should be a good transition year for them. Well I was a long way off.. very good this year
* TTG are a little unknown, and if they'll play in this div and who will play - could easily go as high as top, or fade away low. Semi-correct, unknown from year to year and capable of going top.
* Flinders Uni - shit club Correct, good call
* St Pauls - looks like half the clubs gone to Greenacres, they're gonna struggle. Shit club. Not struggling, but still a shit club
* North Pines - great facilities, shit club.Good call

Common sense is that the yellow card and free kick is enough but if you suspend one bloke for 3 games then you have to be consistent...

Just found out that nothing came out of this.. one set of rules for one club and another set of rules for another.. such a pisstake!!

Found out that the same umpire reported a CUFC player a few years back for saying the exact same thing this bloke did and he got suspended for 4 games back then.

Really good to see a consistent standard across the league pft.. FWIW I don't think this should result in a suspension but you set a precedent early in the season and then follow up with this.

@jake the snake what are your thoughts on this? You were pretty vocal with the Woody one.

Umpires dont hand out the penalties though do they mate?
