A bloke I played a bit of cricket with years ago grew up with Grenville in the Mildura area (pretty sure it was Mildura) .... he told me a tale that Grenville batting in the nets was a sight to see..... he'd call out "bowler killer" as he would flat bat them straight back at the bowlers head!
