Mate was playing district cricket, went to another blokes house after the game, had to pick up another bloke and ended up at another house where he was walking past a bedroom where Grenville was laying on the bed with a half a family pizza next to him, an open carton of VB cans on the floor next to the bed and empty cans littered on the floor.

"Pizza mate?" Gren asked.

"All good, thanks mate".

I remember after an association game of cricket both sides were meant to have a heap of beer tickets, Grenville stole the whole opposition's sides tickets and drank the lot

Absolute gun wicket kepper tho

He kept up to the stumps to me in an association game, ball went between the legs and the leg stump on the last ball for 4 byes and we tied.

The beers still tasted the same!

I heard about the day he was doing the scoreboard at Fitzroy. The deal was that so long as they kept bringing him cans, he’d keep the scores up to date.
Halfway through the second quarter, Grenville took all the scores down. He’d been waiting too long for a beer...

Honestly, they'd have to have a two man operation, he'd down one before someone could walk to the bar from the scoreboard, let alone the journey back.

He'd smash through 3 or 4 a quarter watching the juniors under the shelter outside the Fitzroy bar, you wouldn't even notice by the end of the second game, I'd hate to imagine his numbers if he didn't have any durries in between to slow his drinking down.

Beginning to sound a bit like that mob from West Lakes.... blokes wanting out, taking swings at the fitness coach etc. Did I miss the pre season trip with the blindfolds and the Richmond Theme Song?
