Listening on the radio the Adelaide Manager said it was working well in Adelaide and they were making money, it was a global decision to pull out of Australia (I think because of the Melbourne fines). He was offering up the Adelaide business as a going concern. They employed a dozen people to go pick up the outliers when someone takes them to far away from the mainstream. They are on bikes with a bike trailer attached. He said the only issues they had could be identified down to a few individuals.

Personally I think they should have "bases" at major shopping centres etc where they could be locked up or assembled in one place and if you don't return them there you keep getting charged daily until they are returned. At least that way I'd think only responsible people would use them.

They do that in London. Pick up, drop off in designated locations. Handy when you don't have a ******* clue about bus routes or where the nearest Tube station is.

They are hugely popular in Europe aswell because parking spots are in short supply and it costs a fortune to park so everyone rides or uses their fantastic public transportation

Silly comment, everywhere is "too bogan" for them. Every city has the same problem with them, not just Adelaide.

They're a great idea, there's been a few floating around our area that I've used to go in and out the Port a couple of times, pity the moron's who get off chucking them in the river or a tree ruin it for people who see their use.

Yeah fair call, but I do think the bigger cities are more accepting of these type of things due to having to think thru different ways to commute due to heavy traffic, we are spoilt here.

I live just off ANZAC Highway and the amount of douche bags that run(ride) red lights on ANZAC Highway is crazy.

They give you a death stare when you toot them.

Try Military Road between Semaphore and Grange on a Sunday morning.

At least 5 abreast. swinging out into the left lane past the Aquatic Centre because there are cars parked off the road.

I'm always extremely courteous to them, give them plenty of room, but its still frustrating that I have to avoid hitting them in the far left lane when they have a bike lane the whole way.

I'm usually on the way down south to pick my son up, so it's pretty annoying that I'm the one expected to yield for people breaking the law.

Plus my coffee stop is at Fulham, so its Sunday, 8am, no coffee yet, on the way to see my ex....add a f**kwit cyclist to that and one day I might not change lanes.
