r1 - Nyasaland prince - place $2.75. handles the wide draws. placed last 6. has run time good enough to win here. can lead.
2 -1 blessed in black - $1.40 - short, should win against these. sit back and watch.
3 - 7 bit of fun. looks the leader and the one to beat here $4. 6 Spring carter will be moderate out but always runs on - $3.40place
6 - 2 victa matt - looks suited here. $3.80. had 2 nice placings at Strath over the 319m. ready to pounce here.
7 - 1 zoro bale $4, it cant win this.. 2 - has run sub 30 here 5 starts back and that time wins again. but it is 1.90
8 - 12 months ago saw the 8 win in 29.96 from box 7. its $2.50. 1st time back to the 500m this prep after racing over the shorts.
1 - dyna adria was impressive last week from the middle, where it LAW, more than capable of leading again and holding the 8 out. the value is the 5 Run Rosie, a widey runner who can begin ok. does like Gawler better though.
12 - 6 do the hokey, $3.40 should go close again with a repeat of its last start win

#2 will get room early with 3 stepping slow and 5 likely bumping with 4 early and no pace outside.
Does have the initial speed to sit outside the 1 early and should be too strong in the finish.
#1 early speed is good for this class and definitely enjoys the rails which we know suits Bendigo 500 quite well. Is a bit flat in the finish though, so might not run out the journey entirely and there are some swoopers in this field so needs that early advantage.
#3 steps slowly but then musters pace quickly. Likes racing outside of others so will need a bit of room, is strong when untouched and can run time.
#5 goes left early then settles. Seems to be consistent for the remainder of the race which is kind of uninspiring. But does have enough pace to be one of the contenders. Main issue is that early step left on box rise.
#4 Steps well initially but might get a whack from the 5. And is weak in traffic, which will find plenty of into Turn 1. But keeps trying and that is good sign.
#6 Probably gets too far back against this field, and will find it hard weaving through the traffic.
#8 Jumps ok initially but won't find room and will be left wide and weakens easily.
#7 just too slow

8 jumps well and likes to scout wide a bit and will then hunt up towards the rail on the bend. Should be leading this field here and can run time.
2 is slower away, but thinks way through the field and tends to get best possible route. Box draw favours heavily.
1 slow inititally then musters into corner quickly. Will want to get outside runners and can finish off ok.
The middle boxes may seem some carnage. 7 will want to rail quickly. 3,4 will also want rails, 4 is a big cutter into the corner and will clean up anything on its inside. 7 at this class jumps with these, so may be finding the trouble. Runs home strongly though. If was drawn outside all these would be better rated. So am really thinking that 8 gets clear run, 1,2 enjoy inside box dfraw as the carnage happens in the middle.

A difficult race in the end.
1 steps right early. 2 likes to scout wide. 3 is mad railer entering home straight. 4,5,6,8 all jump well. Problem is that 4,5,6 must lead to win. But if 8 jumps with them. Will squash them up and should be the one to pop out in front. This leaves 7 who shows some smart in races to hunt up on the rail and finish strongly. Other chance is that 6 leads the field. But fades as other chargers come home late.

DYNA CHANCER was given 7 day stand-down for right shoulder muscle injury from last start which was obviously well below par. If returns fully fit. Watchout.

#2 for mine, best chance after going to NSW to return to the winners list. Drawn perfectly, inside runner is slower out. 3 is slower out and 4 steps right initially with mainly 4,5,6,8 all needing to get in the front bunch to win.
So if 2 leads, there is not much that can run him down.
#7 gets good chance in what is a harder field, enjoys racing wide and does have a good motor if the leaders get squeezed.
#5 has the raw pace to be the one out of 4,5,6 to sit behind the 2 early.
#3 class runner. If fit. Much better.
#6 great railer, but needs a bit more room than others.
#1 has a big motor mid race, but will want to scout wide at the first turn, and may just find a bit of traffic.
#4 this field too strong even if does lead.
#8 cant cross. So can't win. Outclassed.

Some talent here, but a bit unsure on what they will do.

#3 MUST lead this field here, best chance today to get to the front. If 4,7 are in front. It's game over.
Reason I think can win, is leading the field has major benefits this race. 1,2 like to race off the rail. 4 gets lost on the bends. 10 is too slow, 6 is a mid-track tracker and 7 doesn't kamakazi into rails, but hates runners inside. Will stay wide initially after jumping well and will cut into the corner. 8 has great motor, but might get stuck out too wide.
For mind, if 3 can lead this field. There are a few factors that work in favour. 4 has mega talent and should probably win this. But I prefer from an inside draw rather than box 4 here.

Believe the 3 is strong enough to keep going on with it. Will need some favours as can miss the initial kick and won't want to be swallowed up early. But believe can finish strongly here. 5 is seasoned at HVL against these, can run the time. But does best racing on the rail and there are a few inside that may cause issues as 4 jumps well initially and can pinball around causing trouble. I feel like 2 will want to get off the track. so there could be some early issues there. But the 2 is strong at the finish.
7 needs to lead easily here as will be fading late. I feel the 6 will want to get off the track, 1 will be slow out here.
Biggest improvement for mine comes from the 8. Wasn't disgraced at HVL when wet and may just avoid all the trouble to run into F4 play.

1 enjoys the best run of the race on the rail. Will be slower out. But motors home late. Fair few of these except the 7 are peaking before the line,s ome well before. So I would expect the stronger runners to have a bit more of a play here.
7 form suits this field and should get a nice run.
9 will be leading for a long way.
3 gets room early with 1 slow and 2 pinging, 4 can be a bit slower away also. May be the one who can pinch it. But I am not convinced as will need room all race.
4 moderately away and will want to push wide mid race.
5 doesn't win enough even though seems to show ok pace here. Wants to move to the rail, but mid-race is very slow, maybe waiting for a corner....
2 pings, but fades horribly here.
8 just too slow.

#8 has the class edge over these. But never underestimate debut at HVL can be a tough initiation.
8 should get all the breaks inside boxes are slow. 5 goes straight, 4 will want rail. Only issue is the 3 wants to push off the track for most of the race and may keep the 8 outwide.
2 Also gets all the breaks. But lacks the natural speed. Will be jumping well and should have the raill all to herself. Can run around 19.6 which is enough for the rest of the field.
3 looks strong on paper, will want to shift off the track and may find some issues there to slow down a bit.
4 does best racing on rail. if pings and finds lead, will be hard to hold out here.
5 consistent performer. Just needs a bit of luck.
Count the rest out I would say.

8 has the pace to cross and lead this field here. Will want to move towards the rail early. But that shouldn't be a problem. Pace is right on the edge against these, but those who can run time need a little luck.
1 is slow out. But really does motor strongly on the rail at the final stages of the race. Will enjoy some clear racing room as the 2 will be pushing off the circuit. Times suit this field.
2 has the ability. but likes to get off and may find it a bit harder out there.
10 another runner who is slow out, but will be rocketing home late. Distance probably not long enough.
7 has pace early, but likely to get hit by the 3.
5 hasn't shown enough since return.
3 not suited here.

I'm not against the US style where the tracks are softer = less injuries. But here in Oz we are addicted to fast times. Thats for all codes.
I dont mind the new style lure they've introduced where it hangs further away from the rail.

Think it's great for all points mentioned. The only problem you could say is the huge bias to the inside boxes.

8 looks well suited outwide and at this track. Has been knocked around a little in previous starts but has been motoring home late. Looks suited in this weaker field. 6 is your leader. Could get all the breaks. 7 is the improver of the field. Will get plenty of room early and is also strong at the finish and in a race of wide runners will enjoy having the rail. Could be sneaking up inside all of them. 1,3, are both slower out. THen muster quickly into the bend.
5 is hit and miss at boxes and doesn't appear to like runners on outside. 4 jumps well initially but fades very quickly and 10 is just too slow.

3 jumps well for this class and given advantage with 1 being slower out will only need to clear the 2. Is weakish on the bend, but finishes races off strongly and should be out in front. 4,6 jump well. but prefer being outwide. 8 pings, but needs to cross entire field.
1 will get benefit of the rail as not many runners here actually want the rail. So should be flying home on the rail.
7 is slower out and will want to race around the outside of others. Think maybe peaking on distance. But times suit this class.
6 jumps well, but wants room. Is better than others in this class.
4 also jumps with them. but just grinds away. needs a lot of luck. Others just don't excite.

A hard race in the end. 1 looks to jump well when on the rail. Has a bit of fight, looks suited to Ballarat as weaker on the bend at Geelong. TImes suit these and could get all the breaks.
5 gets best chance with early speed. 4 bombs the start 2,3 jump steadily and just could get a few breaks.
8 is moderate away and will want to switch to the rails and run home strongly.
4 bombs the start, winds up on the rail and motors home. But does run up the backside of others and sometimes carries too much pace into the corner and runs off.
3,6,7,2 looks to be a squeeze into the corner as there is similar pace at the jump and into the turn. Just looks like box favours the 1 and pace the 5, and the slower runners out may avoid the trouble. But is difficult race.
2 is a cat.

It is a bit of tight race for the top 4 chances.
8 is well draw outwide and can run some nice times for this field if sits outside the 7 early with room.
7 needs to be leading here and is down in class. May find some luck this time as 9,5,6 are slow out.
3 initial jump is ok. but then fades into the bend. Then starts to wind up and is strong finisher.
2 should be the value runner. Well drawn against this field and times do suit. Just needs a bit of luck into the bend as will want room on outside but 7,8 look to be there.
6 is one paced and needs to hold out 7,8 early and be untouched.
5 is slow out. runs home ok. but times not enough here.
1 likely to be swallowed early and spat out back.
9 too slow.

3 is drawn best with 2 slow out and the 1 is tentative into the bend when not cutting from outside.
Should be mustering up inside the 5 early into the corner. Just think has better pace at the end to win this over the 5, they look the likely leaders.
5 pinger who should lead for a long way. needs to cross the 3 by the bend.
4 will find it hard to lead here, but gets good chance behind the leaders to be in the breakaway group. Just weakens too much here.
7 racing well without luck, drawn outside the pace so should get a nice sit. Times suit this.
6 better than form suggests, does best racing on rail for mind. And will find it hard to get there with pace on inside and 1,2 want to get off
9 not sure if race fit yet. Can ping, but fade.
1,2 drawn inside out. Look to be the trouble makers in this race.

3 has improved recently and could be leading all the way here. Times suit.
6 does enjoy the straight, but last time looked to handle the bend here OK. Will be pinging and that gives best chance.
4 so out and will get too far back to chase these leaders down I feel.
5 another one with early pace, but after that is a bit one-paced and probably drifts back.
7,2,8 are all slow out and will struggle to make improvements.

Quite a tight race, plenty of pace from 1,2,8 early on. But will they all find room?
2 could ping and cross the 1, if does that, makes a big difference.
1 needs to hold the field out here to do best. But keeps trying during the race. Will be one of the leaders.
3 can run time and should get a nice sit during the race as 4 pushes off wide in first few steps and should hold out 5. 6,7,8 won't be causing early pressure as don't need the rails initially in this long run to the bend so gets best chance to muster up behind the 1,2.
8 needs to cross the field. May struggle to do so. But can run time when on the lure.
Hard to see anyone else really coming into play besides the top 4 unless they destroy each other at the bend.

Tricky field this one.
3 does best racing when room outside, and will be stepping well then showing good muster into the bend. 4 is slow out, 5 vacant, 6 hit/miss and 7,8 wont be coming across initially meanwhile 2 is moving for the rails and begins well and 1 can jump but fades.
So it really leaves the race for the 3 to be sitting outside 2 at the bend and then carving across.
2 can really ping the lids. But is lacking that X factor of late. Gets good chance to return to form today though as 1 will be slow out.
7 can run time but takes a bit to get going. There is enough pace in the race to keep out wide but is a smart runner and hard to keep down. I just feel will be too far back in this race before winds up. Does have a slick P/B here but track was fast that day and got all the breaks.
8 is starting to show some sparks again, but still below best. Is a wider runner. Could get lucky.
