Yes in deed, King had enjoyed a few reds (as he is now!)
Nevertheless, the elder Bush Pigs have endured 25 years of snide comments against the FHFC.
Now it’s time to gloat.

To All Current members and Past players,

On the 23rd of June, following a great win against Reynella Football Club I asked the players to sing a non club song to honour Hank Middleton.
I did not think of the ramifications of my actions at the time, it was past player’s day and many of the past players and members had come into the change rooms, and were looking forward to singing the HVFC club song with all the players.
On behalf of the playing group and to all who attended the day, please accept my sincere apology.

Was it really that bad he has to make a public apology?

Nearly all of the comments suggest people were fine with it. Overreaction from the Club to force the Captain to make a public apology.

When your captain has plenty of offers to play elsewhere and ties to Noarlunga the best way to keep him is to force a public apology. Club is being run by idiots

In hindsight probably best to have sung club song then Hank's. Anyway all intentions were good so shouldn't be an issue. And shouldn't cloud purpose of honouring Hank.

They have known for a while. The oval had a clash already too with under 14 girls and under 15's both programmed at the same time. It's being sorted out from what I've been told. Girls and Ladies when some ovals free up during Carnival finals and 15's after would be good, that's my preference. But it's a long enough day as it is for organizers and volunteers.

Fair enough, interesting that OSBL get to fund their 2019 AdFL season from the SFL clubs that attend on the day, thought it may have been moved.

Maybe all the money they make out of the day will be going to their SFL activities (Women's, girls and Sunday juniors)?
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Do Christies host SFL finals to fund their Adelaide Footy League Female teams. Or Happy Valley? Or Aldinga? This is sarcastic BTW, good on them for placing their teams in a suitable League.

Where would be an alternative venue be that could have 5 ovals running and room to set up camp for 20 plus teams?

Their sub juniors are still in the SFL so may be run by their minis committee

Come on Dutchy, your SFL bias is starting to rank with LGIL. Clubs must do what is best for their playing membership and their demographic along with the expectations of the league or leagues they are in. Brighton left the SFL for those reasons and so have others. Whilst others have affiliations across more than one league seniors and juniors. If the leagues and the SACFL allow it then so be it. OSBL has the largest space for multiple small ovals, they are still affiliated with the SFL in the age groups represented in the carnival so why shouldn’t they be entitled to host a carnival still.

Is that you Pauline?

I have no problem with them hosting the carnival, but I can see that others might.
