I may do. The centre exists in the Eagles zone so it may be stepping on toes if Centrals were to do.

Went up for the Kadina game. Didn't catch the exact number when they announced the crowd on Sunday but it certainly had a 2 in front of it so above 2 thousand. Definitely should be more SANFL games played in the country, and not just involving the AFL teams. As the numbers on the previous page show, they are almost always well supported.

Kadina is an Eagles zone so if Port played there Sunday I'd say it probably doesn't matter

True but to get a decent crowd I think it would need to have a team the area can feel some form of attachment to, especially if it is SANFL clubs with no AFL affiliation.

2,310 the crowd.

COUNTRY GAMES HOSTED BY CLUBS SINCE 1996

STURT
2,188 v South, Strathalbyn, 1996
2,279 v South, Murray Bridge, 2008

NORTH
2,890 v Centrals, Port Pirie, 1997
2,426 v Eagles, Clare, 1998

GLENELG
1,059 v South, Penola, 1998
1,485 v Adelaide, Bordertown, 2017

Their figures aren't great but tbe Bordertown one was not surprising. Wasn't Penola affected by bad weather? Can't recall that far back.

SOUTH
3,433 v Sturt, Encounter Bay, 2003
2,232 v West, Encounter Bay, 2006
2,728 v Eagles, Encounter Bay, 2007
2,786 v Norwood, Encounter Bay, 2009
2,357 v Adelaide, Encounter Bay, 2017

I don't know the ins-and-outs but the Fleurieu region has clearly supported our games down there really well. Crowds are well above our average for all matches at Noarlunga (excluding 1995, our long-term average is 1,865 and the highest our average crowds have been for a year is 2,282).

We should be playing a minimum of one match per year down there until less than 840 people turn up. Go with what works.

CENTRALS
2,155 v North, Nuriootpa, 1999

WEST ADELAIDE
1,541 v Sturt, Loxton, 1997
1,223 v Glenelg, Lameroo, 1999
2,428 v Centrals, Berri, 2007
2,265 v Sturt, Waikerie, 2009
3,036 v Sturt, Mannum, 2010

NORWOOD

Understandable given how big their home crowds are.

Ooh my bad. Definitely 100% a West home game. Poor copying. Urgh. Thanks old mate.

There's a small article in the Portside Messenger by Andrew Faulkner titled, "It's not their game, it's ours". Sorry can't post it. One paragraph; "Yes, some have given the competition away since the AFL incursion. But hang in there people - AFL reserves is coming. Until then the resistance continues.

Think Eagles did play one in Clare around Easter 1998.

Agree with your post on the previous page, the eight teams should play one game in the country each year, hosting one every second year. I thought South were onto something good there over Easter at Encounter Bay, although they have had some good Good Friday crowds.

Right you are about Clare in 1998.

I recall Port playing Centrals in Whyalla in the late 90's/early 2000s, but may have been just a pre-season trial game.

Minor Round game - 1998, round 2.

Can't emember what the crowd was, but West hosted Adelaide in Berri in I think 2015 or was it 2016, one of the two.

2,310 a decent crowd at Kadina.

This I believe is the full list of country matches; don't take it as gospel that every team on the left was the hosting team

Just saw this on the SANFL website:

Each non-AFL aligned SANFL club will field a team selected from their Country and Metropolitan zones in the Under-15 competition while also choosing an Under-17 (Youth) side of players from both zones.

Minor round matches have been conducted from Tuesday July 15 through to Thursday July 19 before the Under-15 Grand Finals are held at Thebarton Oval on Friday.

Teams are split into two divisions:

Crows Division – Central District, Glenelg, North Adelaide, Sturt
Power Division – Norwood, South Adelaide, West Adelaide, Woodville-West Torrens

Whoever named those divisions should be hung, drawn and quartered, wtf have the AFL teams got to do with it! Norwood in the Power division! Makes me want to throw up.

Just Rucci with his normally garbage. Basically saying that if the AFL introduces starting zones and different rules next year the Crows and Power would hope the SANFL does the same otherwise it isn’t in their interests to stay in the SANFL
