Phoenix Chinese at North Haven.

We service them at work, so thought it was time I went in.

The owner asked as he was taking our order "Do I know you from somewhere?" Oh how we laughed.

Got the banquet for two.

Starting with the best damn spring roll I've ever had, and a satay chicken skewer.
Second thing out was a bowl of chicken and corn soup. Delicious.
Then came the rest, there was a prawn dish, a beef dish, lemon chicken, and a pork dish. There was also a big plate of special fried rice.
After we finished that, we got a fortune cookie each, and a nut sundae.

The price for the banquet was $32 each (min of two people). We also got a Bundy and coke, and a coke.

Total was $76. (Didn't give me mates rates)

Unfortunately it was pissing down outside, but I assume the views would be nice on a clear day from the upper story on the North Haven marina.

8/10

Went there years ago (maybe 10?) mate for a work Christmas show, was about 20 of us and I think there was enough food for 40!!

Food was good, was painful seeing so many trays of Lamb and Prawns being taken away uneaten. It's a memory I still can't erase :(

Yep, I had a similar experience, work function too.

A colleague went there last night and was rubbing it in all morning, after perusing the menu and emailing it to the fun police, we have to go there now!!

Jimmy Deanes - south adelaide footy club

6 people

Ordered at 6.20.

Entree arrived just after 7ish after being prompted.

Mains come out, after being prompted. 90mins after ordering.

2 chicken shittys
Pizza
Steak
Mixed grill
Seafood basket.

Well reports are the chicken schnits were average.
Pizza looked like off kids menu
Mixed grill and steak were good.
My seafood basket had a frozen piece of fish.

I got my meal refunded.

We had banned them before, a few years back. But thought with time, they may have improved.

Definitely banned.

Not deserving enough of a rating.

Cheers mate, the missus was suggesting we do dinner Friday night, I borrowed money from our holiday fund, went to the pub and told her to pick me up when she's ready and we'll go out.
She got the shits on and thought it was just a ploy for me to go to the pub, I chucked a $3 tri on Race 4 Alexandra Park, collected $270 for that, then about 5 minutes later used my extensive knowledge of Japanese thoroughbred racing for another $3 tri that netted me $400.
We done dinner on Saturday night instead as I had to get my own way home :D

Wanted to go to the Greek on Halifax after umpiring on Saturday but neither of us wanted to drive and the FIL's trotter was running on Saturday night so we decided to walk to the Mawson Lakes Hotel for a feed, drink and watch the race.

I had the 500gm rump, the wife had the Thai Beef Salad.

My steak was perfect, the salad bar was exceptional once again, beers were $6 so double thumbs up for me.

Mrs Mc was disappointed with her salad, there was no coriander and it was a bit heavy on the oyster sauce, I sliced some of my steak up and threw it in there too to beef it up a bit, she was pretty impressed with the cosmopolitan cocktails after being let down by the expresso martini.

On a side note, we noticed that they serve meals until 10pm and after 9pm the cocktails are 2 for 1, we'll be eating later in future.

Highlight for the evening was an African family sitting adjacent to us, they had 6 kids ranging from 2ish through to probably 17, they way they helped each other out, their manners, the way they all interacted was an absolute credit to their parents, we were simply in awe of how nice this family was.

My wife went to the salad bar as one of the older boys was helping his younger sister he stepped aside and insisted that my wife goes first, she thanked him for his kindness but declined and they both had a beaming smile.

All up, a solid 8 for all things considered, I didn't try the Beef Salad so I'll not knock too much off for it, put $8 in the pokies on my way out and took out $30 odd when we got bored with them so that gained half a point.

ENA - Greek Street Food, Southbank - Melbourne.

Located on the first level, we sat on the veranda overlooking Southbank with the lit up buildings over the water creating a great atmosphere. Cafe blinds & heaters kept us comfortable.
All of us opted for “The Greek Feast” @ $59 p/person
Homemade dips & dolmades came out first, followed by the pan fried saganaki (divine) & crispy calamari.
A few more Mythos, not a bad beer and the chargrilled meat platters came out.
MY-F#CKING-GOD!
Chicken, pork & lamb gyros, loukanika, lamb koftas & bifteki served with sides of Greek style chips, salad & dessert.
The meat was nothing short of spectacular. Cooked perfectly & plenty of it. Washed down with more Mythos & a few bottles of red and it was a fantastic night. The service was friendly & efficient.
Highly recommend if you’re heading over the border.

Service 9/10
Food 9.5/10
Value 9.5/10
