Cheers mate .. Funeral last Friday (in Melb, which I unfortunately couldn't make), Monday and yesterday, hopefully the last of them for a while.

Always the way mate, I go through spates, it's terrible and throws everything into perspective, I hope you're holding up alright.

All good mate. One wasn't a shock, one was always on the cards but well earlier than expected, and one was a complete shock. You feel pretty glum for a bit but then you get that jolt in perspective that urges you to do as much as you can before it's your turn.

I wore his number on Saturday. As gay as this sounds it was a pretty emotional day yet I’m certainly glad I did it.

It was also great so see a few old Paralowie guys come out to watch.

Not ‘gay’ at all Carey, very good of you to honour a mate.

F***, what a bad week or so for the safooty family, my thoughts are with you all, death of those around my age certainly tugs at my heart strings, I'm a bit soft when it comes to that stuff.

Not that I knew the bloke well, someone I played footy with passed away at 37 last week. Went home from work feeling ill and mentioned to colleagues that he would touch base with them after lunch as he was the boss. 2IC didn't hear from him and went to check on him after work and he'd gone.

Shit, that's crap.

My wife's best friend was running a few weeks ago and felt light headed, rang her husband to go pick her up, he took her straight to the Lyle Mac who then rushed her to the RAH with a double brain aneurysm, very lucky to have acted so quickly, I've lost a couple of friends from mistaking them for a migraine.

A mate of mine has just had a recurrence of a Melanoma he had removed several years ago. There are secondary deposits elsewhere so it doesn't look good.

I have a pretty good weekend coming up, mine and my girlfriends birthday, her on Thursday and me on Saturday, both turning 27.
We have dinner Wednesday night with her family for her birthday,
Day off Thursday for her birthday which I'm very much looking forward too (has no issue with me still going to footy Thursday night as per normal, you beauty)
Friday I'm planning to take her to Jamie's Italian (That's if she can get her arvo shift swapped)
Saturday I'm having all my friends around for drinks.
Then Sunday dinner with my family for my birthday.

Done all our planning now, mainly for the house party Saturday night so while I've be tied up in all that I've completely forgotten about it being dads birthday on Wednesday, he would of been 64 this year. It just hit me instantly at work today and it was tough. Can't have a period of happiness and celebration without a day of sadness and reflection I suppose.

After reading your review on Jamies, i'm surprised you're hearing back there so soon after. For a fantastic Italian restaurant you cant beat La Trattoria on King William rd. Food is fantastic, good size serving and well priced.

Bonus is you can head upstairs to the peep shows after!

I'm willing to give Jamie's another crack.
Might keep La Trattoria in mind, thanks Mickey.
