Your truely at the Islander Bar July 2017 after the Hawks knock off the pies. Great Memories.

Pretty good deal that one. Only 2km or so from Chaweng Beach (busier part) but there are some pretty cool beach bars and restaurants next to/near the Saraan.

Bit of a lul in proceedings here so, Singapore :

Stayed in the Park Hotel on Clarke Quay. Was around $700 for 3 nights with breakfast and "Crystal Club" access. On the 10th floor there's a lounge that serves light snacks and soft drinks/water all day, at night ( the kicker ) from 5:30-7:30 it's free flowing beer and cocktails. Singapore Slings for Mrs Boon, Tiger's for yours truly. We made the most of this without any shadow of a doubt.

Singapore is expensive, very, very expensive. It's almost $ for $ exchange with the AUD. Most places beers ranged from $10-14 ( although I did see a bucket of 5 Budweisers for $58 +ST +GST - Service tax 7%, GST 10% - expensive cats piss! ) and meals were similar to a nice restaurant here, but more of a pub setting. So think $30+ for steak, $40+ for seafood while on the board walk along the Singapore River. Did a river cruise, was $40 each, went for about 40 minutes. Ripped. Off.

The public service under ground rail is super easy to negotiate, cheap as buggery ( about $1.80 would get you from one side of town to the other ) and goes all over the place.

Went across to Sentosa Island where Universal Studios is located, didn't to the Studios, just had a good look around, had some lunch and a few beers watching the crazy world go by.

Looked at Marina Bay Sands, that place is amazing, but at $28 per person for a day pass to go to the observation deck we passed, went back to the pool and waited for 5:30 to come around! Note - You need your passport to get into the casino if you want to go in for a punt.

A mate of mine lives there, has done for about 10 years so having a tour guide was pretty handy.

Really nice place, certainly happy to suggest stopping over for a night or two on the way to or from any where North of there.

Would I suggest staying for a week? Probably not, 2-3 nights gives you enough of an insight into the place without busting the bank.

Agree completely. 2-3 nights is more than enough time in Singapore. As a rule unless the airfares are good we don’t go via Singapore anymore
