Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

Cracking Day up at Sandy Creek today... Blue skies and not a cloud in the sky... One of our usual playing partners is in a bad way in hospital so it was just Dad and I... We were sandwiched between a couple of four balls so we could play at a nice and steady pace...

First tee I nearly missed it and it didn't even make it to the fairway. Scrambled a 6 for 1 and then I played like I actually new what I was doing from tee to green...

My putting was pretty poor (36 putts) but managed to finish up with 37 points, meaning I won the B grade ($40 pro shop voucher), nearest the pin on the 8th (2 feet from the pin, which is a Fasta Pasta voucher) and a birdie ball on the same hole.

Could have been heaps better if the putting was slightly better...

Handicap has gone from 13.2 into 11.3

Not bad for the first round in 2 months...

How good is golf...

So South Lakes today.
Started on 10.
Quite warm conditions for the 1st 6 holes.
Then the fog rolled in and visibility dropped quite low when the ball went airborne..

Anyway front 9. And i was in good touch. 20pts.
Most things went right.
Back 9
Well, how quickly the round can just **** up.
Had 3 wipes in a row, including the easiest hole on the course....followed by the Par 4, 4th, and then a poor hook with the 8i on the Par 3.....went into the bushes I think. Honestly....a disgrace.
Managed to scrape together 11pts....
**** this game

I dropped into Drummo's on Sunday to see if the had a clothing item I had been waiting for to come in. It's a Footjoy Thermal top. Got one last year and its bloody awesome, so wanted to get a second. I actually called in about 6 weeks ago, and they had not received most of their winter stock. They said as I am a drummo's member they would e-mail me when they came in..... they didn't..... or maybe they have an old e-mail address, come to think of it!

Anywho the thermal long sleeve tops are spot on, in a Melbourne winter, they get a run often.... & I don't even play golf (much) anymore.

Seems to be a common trait with these franchises......an Adelaide based one is similar with their supposed call backs!

Only 39 players played  across the 3 grades and ladies yesterday in the par comp. with only 2 players recording + scores.

Glad I didn’t play.

We had 60odd.

The arvo players, made use of the easier conditions.
But only 3 scores 40+, normally thats around a min of 10..

89 stroke.
Trying conditions, blustery gale breezes...

So we started off rather interesting.
Drive rolled over the path and onto rough on the 9th in a puddle of water. Hit it, hits the bloody tree.
Then from 150m, down breeze, 7i which i caught heavy, so looking left and short of green. Low and behold its rolled onto the back left corner of the green....wtf and of course the flag is at the front..... 4 putt 8. Ffs. Honestly disgraceful, deeply ashamed.

All day long i held the putter, stood over the putts, from all distances and seriously had , no idea what to ******* do, it was strange.
It was an interesting day for a new member, 17yr old kid off 3. He was good to watch. He hit some cracking low stingers with his 2i.

So walk off with 89.
Probably what it deserved, but was so close to being so much better.
