Can someone explain where and who will play in the finals in As and Bs if the ladders are how they are now?

Given no A grade sides playing, it may not be guaranteed these two would follow the D7 fixture. May find that it's paired with a C grade fixture, or Marion may even be given an option of hosting a triple header, with the TTG vs Marion game to be played in the earlier slot to enable time to get from Marion to Mofflin.

If Central United pay $1K for a home final, they're entitled to have a Reserves game that day to help cover costs?

Centrals wont make finals, more than likely it will be Marion and TTG will be hosting first week

Can the clubs charge to get into the ground or is the $1k recouped via canteen/bar etc?

So OTW you have Central United losing to St Pauls this week and Mawson Lakes defeating GG in round 18? Mawson Lakes should worry about getting over Nat McDonald first, Whoops I mean Mitchell Park.......

Units play finals for mine.

You can charge for parking, not entry

From memory couple years ago Smithfield charged $5 per car or gold coin for walk ins. If you have the ability, don't think there is anything stopping charging a gate - but most grounds have multiple ways in or aren't fenced so it's almost impossible to enforce.

Clubs can charge for parking any time of the year. Doesn’t have to be limited to finals.

Marion used to get fencing put up just to host SFL finals, god knows what it cost but wouldnt have been cheap and SFL takes all the gate takings, was a full day of 5 games though.

Hey Q man. Why don't we host finals even if our team isn't playing there?

Not quite right
The sfl charged $5000 to the club to host a final. The club got all the money from the gate and bar etc. Was abit of a risk.

In the past both Broadview and Brahma Lodge have put up temporary fencing to host GF’s from memory.

Q, at some stage I can see SAAFL clubs with the ability to do so charging for parking but the culture of the league would need to change first- you wouldn’t get half the cars parking there that do now. I wish I had a go pro attached when working on the gate over the years. The amount of people who complain about paying to enter 1 or 2 finals a year is brilliant and the abuse you cop is top shelf. My favourite is standing back and watching people around the ground go to all sorts of lengths to scale a fence and then walk up to them just as they land to follow me so they can pay.

1 year a bloke wouldn’t pay to watch his son in a GF for a certain private school (I know this as he was sure to tell me) He backed his flash car out the entrance, drove around the block 3 times (stopping every 20 metres to try and find a gap) and he told me to go **** myself after I caught up with him after he jumped a fence and then climbed back over the fence- He then climbed a gum tree to watch the game!

WTF!

What's wrong with us making our oval available to play finals on? Access to the oval is through one entry. We have really good facilities and the oval is a decent size to play on mate?
