So that crap by Mark Stevens on twitter was legit? I owe him an apology

Certainly out of character. Like many I went in at 6 weeks but is that enough?

I'll refuse to put a number on it, it's just a crazy occurrence, if you had of asked me last week who are the 5 least likely players in the AFL to hit someone, Gaff would've been mentioned.

I'm in no way condoning what he has done but I really think "scragging" off the ball needs to monitored a bit more, they have enough umpires out there to reign it in a little.

And 'punching' including jumper punching, gut punching and any other form. The AFL clearly allows it to occur and hence one slip can cause this sort of damage.

Gaff should get 6+. But the AFL should pull their heads in for allowing punches to be thrown in back play.

The AFL might've done that thinking 'we' care more than we do (the general populous) by trying to heckle or cajole him at the airport. Generally the populous don't care for retribution for instances like that, we're after justice which will be rightly served (I hope). If it doesn't, then there could be retribution!

After the lynching he has copped over the last few days from 6 weeks suspension to a year he had every right to not face the media. Whilst I dont condone what he did. Can you just imagine what the fella is going thru. Absolutely ripped apart by the media his mental state would be a concern. Yes he made a mistake but to have his character questiuoned is a disgrace and Basil Zemplis last night just showed what a comple ass jockey he is. Simmo i reckon wouldve loved to rip his head off.

Who gives a shit? Too quickly people **** up, monumentally **** up, then turn the victim as people need to be mindful of their feelings.

I'm all for supporting people through tough times but you belt a bloke and smash his jaw and then have the football world question your actions isn't a "tough time".

So how would you know what he is going thru. How do you know what state he is in. He has said he didnt mean to punch him in the face. Everyone makes mistakes and as the eagles have said he will cop whatever is coming to him. There are 2 people here. Yes Brayshaw would be in a horrible state and we all wish him the best but you also have to think ok all this lynching of Gaff by every media person except Wayne Carey wpuld not be doing anyone any good.
The case is already tainted by the media an he will be trialled by media. Christian would be reading everyting about what everyone has said. Gaff doesnt stand a chance. And by the way I thought he would get 3-5 becasue of good record but now after the media have had their say he will get 7

You're right, I don't know what he's going through but I'd imagine a shitload of remorse, some guilt, probably some sleepless nights, as it should be and "I didn't mean to punch him in the face" counts for nothing. Nothing at all.

It doesn't matter what Michael Christian has read or heard. Isn't his role to simply assess whether the act was intentional or not. He has done that, so it now gets handed over to the tribunal and he is out of the equation. The tribunal will judge the case and apply a penalty, not Michael Christian.

The AFP both suggest it and pay for it.

If he was not a sporting/entertainment etc entity they would not do it.

Apparently we didn’t appeal it but no surprise given how spineless as a club we are

If you look at the angle the AFL did when reporting him, you wouldnt challenge either. Gets him in the head.
Very similar to Douglas case earlier in the year but Douglas got 1 match even

I've been down the South Coast of Tassie for a week without internet or phone reception, whats been happening around here, I assume business as normal?

Charlie Dixon still the most dominant big man the modern game has ever seen?

Ken Hinkley still relaxed and calm during post game press conferences?

Andrew Gaff still an honest, hardworking player who wouldn't hurt a fly?

Josh Jenkins still a complete potato who only kicks joe the goose goals?
