It’s called perspective.
Drought is far more sadder than AJ’s knee injury.

But we are unique on here I’ll give you that.

Do you ever hear anyone comfort a farmer by saying dont worry mate, itll be right, could be worse, you could be on 300k a year playing football and having your 6th knee recon. Turn it up!!

Yeah its sad but theres plenty of sadder things going on at the moment in Australia with the drought around the country.

so people can't be sad if something worse is going on??? Pretty sure AJ gives zero **** about the farmers at the moment...

Pretty sure Alex will wake up and still have food on the table for his family, and probably will for the rest of his life. He wont need to shoot thousands of stock.

I did say its sad, just not the saddest thing going on at the moment but you read what you want to

So Aj can’t be sad or people find his situation sad because of some farmers?

my family being broken up earlier this year, should I run it past you and the farmers to see if it make the grade for this forum? Or because others have it worse (which I am sure they do) I can’t mention it?

What I am getting at is, i am not saying one situation is sadder than the other. I ain’t comparing anything.
Each situation is sad, but in their own way... and people can find whatever they want sad without another ridiculous example of something else being thrown in their face.

Can't believe these two topics are being compared in this thread.

The farmer who purchased a new harvester when times were good rather than saving it for the drought brought it on himself.
The footy player who did his knee 5 times previously and continued to play a sport that his body wasn't up to, brought it on himself.

How do you know the harvester was purchased during the good times?

It’s sad that you’re assuming this ;)

Maybe it was purchased because the old one was buggered.

I’m no farmer but a harvester ain’t a toy.
It’s required to bring in the income for the farmer to pay off the loan he got for the harvester and what’s left helps pay the bills.

It's all part of life but I feel for my mum and her partner.

My grandfather became very ill last year and we thought he was gone and suddenly my nanna died, then pa died a couple of months ago.

Then there's my stepfather, his dad became gravely ill, to the point everyone had to go say their last goodbye's and then out of nowhere his mum passed away earlier this year and the old man came good, well he passed away yesterday, they've lost all 4 of their parents in just over a year, at least they have each other to help them through.

Unfortunately one of his siblings is an absolute sponging space cadet who has been hocking his old mans shit and changed the locks on his house while he was in hospital, it's going to be a messy process that the SD will have to clean up.
