Under no disillusions as to how long this is going to take, having renovated 2 bathrooms and 2 kitchens I'm aware things :

1 - Never go as smoothly as you hope
2 - Never happen as quickly as you hope
3 - Always cost more than you expect
4 - Mrs Boon is extremely impatient
5 - I drink lots
6 - 5 has nothing to do with renovations

My wife and I are best friends but have learnt that we just simply cannot perform tasks together, whenever we have a big job to do we assign roles and don't interfere or offer advice to each other, it's frustrating but it seems to work.

I'm left shaking my head a lot of the times but beer fixes everything.

Same. If I'm doing something at home, the headphones are in and she's asked to stay away and not make any comments on what I'm doing.

My solution to this problem is to not contribute (very much) around home.
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!

We got a 75-25 system for inside, she does 75% of the duties and I do the day to day crap.

I cook most nights and I do ALL of the dishes except when she cooks or prepares the lunches for the week as she manages to use pretty much every pot, pan, steamer, utensil and mixing bowl that we have in the kitchen, this is known as "Sky Racing Channel" time.

When I cook there is minimal mess and a couple of dishes/pots.
When the missus cooks, much like your better half LM she uses every **** apparatus in the kitchen.
And I can assure you it doesn’t taste any better.

I rate this forum on the weekends, during the week it turns into the Woman's Day forum!

And in this week's episode we will be discussing cleaning, comparing levels of sadness and will swap our favourite recipes.
Next week we'll compare favourite knitting patterns and discuss how to deal with teenagers.
Stay on the lookout for our big health and fitness special coming out soon.

Sounds like the running sheet for "Today Tonight" or "A Current Affair", without the obligatory 'Another day in Shit Street' neighborhood tiff and someone's life savings being ripped off.

Absolutely. His southern accent is so soothing and comforting, he can cure the common cold by simply reading a Radio Rentals catalogue out loud.

Certainly rated the 5 and a bit weeks spent travelling in the NT and the weather up there.

Didn't rate returning home and work and the cold weather
