I can’t speak for other clubs but Essendon has several coterie groups. We have a couple of very powerful coterie groups that I’m not a part of but have met several of the people on them and they invest quite a bit of money in the club and are quite influential. The Essendonians for instance is made up of some very powerful movers and shakers and often in the past have been responsible for board spills, coaching changes etc.

Cool so Essendon is pretty much like modern politics then.

Umm, what?

I assumed he was talking about Jim Hurley, not Michael.

I assumed he meant Murray Rance not Alex ;)

Compare the pair!

Rance in a shite Richmond team was just a player.
Now Richmond are brilliant he's a great player.

Hurley before the drugs bizzo was all Australian in a rubbish Essendon team.
Missed a year then all Australian last year.
He's done it tough in an ordinary Essendon team on and off the field.

Just saying that I rate Hurley higher than Rance.
Its up for discussion.
