If Dutton gets in, it seems he's got some section 44 problems to contend with (pecuniary interests like Bob Day, not the citizenship stuff) that would at least complicate his ongoing spot in the parliament.

No Benny, I'm fairly well Centralised.

But you my friend are a raging Lefty. ;).

I dont see Benny has anywhere near central but that's based upon what he writes on here

At least from the surveys (like votecompass) etc that I’ve done -

For social issues, especially things like immigration, I’m very much left wing

For economic issues I’m pretty much smack in the centre. I believe in both market and government actions on climate change for instance, and am pretty ambivalent about the roles of both unions and big businesses, though I would like to see big businesses pay more tax than they currently do.

Well if that's the case then its the liberal party you want to stay in power like you said.
Just like big business.
No royal commission into banking sector and tax cuts to offset the sting they're going to get.
Michaela Cash for PM lol.

I heard on the news that company tax cuts were defeated in the senate and Turdbull won't be taking the policy to the next election.
He's going to go all out to keep his job.

Politicians would have to be the most untrustworthy backstabbers ever.
Dutton admits trying to talk his colleagues into another spill.

Says a lot about this country that a bloke who walked out of the Stolen Generation apology could now be the PM. Election can't come soon enough.

It's often said that leadership challenges on a sitting PM are themselves the end of the PM regardless if they win the first challenge. The fact they happen at all means the end is inevitable.

Dutton and his forces were starting to build support for a future challenge so Turnbull caught them off guard by announcing the leadership spill. The fact Dutton got within 7 votes despite he and his backers having no time to marshal the troops shows what dire state Turnbull's leadership is in. He needs to call an election immediately before Dutton (or someone else) launches another leadership challenge because that next one will be it.

Turnbull supposedly pumped in $2 million of his own money to help win the last election so lock up your cats because I doubt he's going to go down quietly to a halfwit goon like Dutton.

Well it's apparently going to be on again today. Duttons backers believe they have the numbers.

I assume we have all seen the community service messages on Facebook, it's very good advice. Change your smoke detector battery everytime we change PMs.

Also for everyone out there about to hit up some leadership challenge drinking games, remember safety first.

Heard some Nationals may cross the floor if Dutton succeeds in his attempts to become PM.

Enough of them cross over and the LNP looses the numbers, Shorten becomes PM.

Is Dutton that stupid?

The one-nation lite faction of the liberal party most certainly are. As a Liberal it hurts me to say that.

As my old man used to say people like Dutton have only got heads to keep their ears apart.

Whether Shorten is PM tomorrow, next week or in 8 months time it is only a matter of time.

let the ALP caucus jostling for ministerial begin.
