Never cooked in your life and run short of volunteers to cook for you? Hell, that's embarrassing, have you had a personal butler your whole life by any chance?

So you just sit around and have your women cook for you? How chauvinistic.

No butler - My dad was a Fitters assistant then a clerical assistant in the railways.

My mother and my first two wives loved cooking, especially the second who was part French - and so did most of my girlfriends over the years, and so it just happened that way. I took care of the things they struggled with - mostly the more technical stuff. It was mutually beneficial.

My new lady though is an actres and theatre board member, a Rotarian, and a Marriage Celebrant - and a few years younger than me. So now that I only work about 10 weeks a year the home and general support role falls to me instead of the other way round.

It is a new experience which is proving interesting. (One of my duties coming up will be hosting the state governer at the opening night at the theatre because she will be busy on stage and her successor as Board President will be busy stage managing.)

My wife insisted on cooking a corned silverside last night with all the trimmings, along with lunches for the week, 1 large pot, 1 small, 1 medium, 1 frying pan, 2 steamers and most of the utensils we own for me to wash, good times, I wanted leftover laksa that required 1 bowl and 1 spoon each.

My kids call the wife “packet food mum” as everything she cooks comes from a jar or packet. She does make a cracking lasagna

Thus why I cook a lot.

My missus has to use every utensil that we own when she cooks.
And yep my job is to do the dishes. Go figure!

Mrs. Creation and I have a good thing going, in that we can both cook, and have no qualms in doing so.

There's certain meals she always lets me cook (silversides, brisket, casseroles etc),, and others where she takes the reins.

Wednesday at Casa de Creation tends to be steak night, and I tend to take care of the mushrooms and the steak, and she generally takes care of the roasted vegetables.

It's a great arrangement because we're both generally willing and able.

Hell yeah, I put a slice of cheese in there too.
