The Cats have really been screwed late this season.
2 practice matches at home, freo and suns, then a bye, then another practice match v Melbourne

Could be Melbourne, Sydney, GWS or Hawthorn. None are unrealistic chances of happening.
Hopefully we get Melbourne or Hawthorn.

Melbourne’s best footy is probably the best in the top eight, including Richmond imo.

They just don’t bring it often enough. But if they click and have a purple patch they could go all the way for sure

Melbourne’s likely path is beating Geelong, then
A game against hawthorn, and then west coast.

They would rate their chances there

I said somewhere last week that Melbs first final could be their biggest hurdle... get past that and there's going to be a tsunami of Melb media media and bandwaggoners jumping on the next 'fairy tale'' result for the VFL

Casey Demons are playing Geelong next Sat in a qualifying final in the VFL, so he is kind of correct.

I still don’t rate Goodwin.

This was after round 13 when they were 4th on the ladder.

Also remember some on here saying Goodwin is the worst coach going around. Haven't heard sh!t about that either since they've been going alright.
Going alright? Who of note have they beaten? No one.
I’ll give’m some credit if they come over here & beat Port, but until then they’re a barely above average side with a very favourable draw.
As for their coach, I’ll stand by my comment that he’s a fraud.

Yeah I think they're going alright. You obviously have a different opinion of the word alright than I do. Only team they've beaten in the 8 are your mob who I also think are going alright.

This was after round 10 when they were 3rd on the ladder & had just flogged us by 90 odd points

It’s only round 10.

Was mainly referring to the weekends game, but Melbourne are looking better than the Crows at the moment.

Thank you for proving my point.
At the time they had not beaten anyone of note.
Fast forward to now and they have beaten teams in the finals, thus my comment that they’re the smokey in the 8.
You weren’t one of the Sturt nuffies standing in front of us at The Bay yesterday, were you? ;)

Like I said at the time, they were going "alright" along with your mob & better than the Crows. Now they have improved on alright (yet are worse off on the ladder), your mob went downwards & we stayed shit. Your standards of alright are obviously way different to mine. Not sure that proves your point but if that's what you need to make you feel good then by all means claim it. ;)

Reckon the Cats would be pretty happy with how the finals draw has landed. Expect them to be too tough for the Dees
