Edwards is a strange one, thought he was more highly rated than Jarman?

No surprise, unfortunately both lads have gone backwards and not up to this level. Only got a gig due to their Father!

Especially Ben Jarman, was never good enough to be picked up.

Will be interesting to see if Jarman and Edwards can make a career at SANFL level now, not sure if they are even up to that

Tough gig for a kid trying to perform consistently playing for the Crows reserves in the SANFL.

5 players and Billy Hartung

Paying Hartung out for a year as well, picked up in the draft means a 2 year deal. Why didn't they just rookie list him for a year?

I’ll stand corrected but I think if a player has previously been on an AFL list & gets delisted, he can be signed by another club on a 1 year contract.
This decision still baffles me. Even if we land Polec and/or Gaff, he would’ve been a good depth player. We are a slow side, whilst Hartung has his deficiencies, he’s pacy.

Footywire had him down as contracted till end of 2019 but I'm not overly sure its a 100% correct. Agree its a surprising decision
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Heard a recruiting manager once say the father son rule is great when a kid has talent but a lot of the time the clubs fans can almost pressure a club into taking a kid because of his last name. This would apply with Jarman & Edwards, imagine the uproar 2 years ago if the Crows hadn't taken them but in hindsight despite only being rookie spots they would have been better used on getting someone like Lachy Murphy a year earlier etc.

Shocked by that, unless he is injured again? Minimum coin and going into the preseason fit would be worth the gamble.

Thought he went alright in his 2 games and was shocked that he got dropped.
Not surprised though with that flog Richardson at the helm. Ill be very surprised if he doesnt get the ass at some point in the next 6 weeks. If he somehow survives that i give him to next years bye. Absoluts dud, Booney would make a better coach

Jarman was never going to make it as he was no where near good enough.
Edwards though was a very god underage player and many thought he’d make the grade.

On that note, I was surprised that every coach made it through the year, there's usually a casualty or two along the way.

Jarman is built like a Jarman. Great skills but is slow and stumpy. The game has moved on a bit from when the Jarmans played.
