Same here. He has a bit of x factor about him IMO. Sad to see him go.

Any side will need to pay overs for him, Crows hold all the cards here. If he had one year to go you could say it swings slightly back in the players favor but having two years to go means they get what they want or he has to stay put. I want to see just one club hold a player to their contract if they don't get what they want for him when he decides he wants to break the contract.

Can't remember the last time a player has demanded a trade while contracted because of money
Looking forward to seeing this one play out

What's the point of player contracts?

1 year into a 3 year deal and you can opt out.
Crows have been seriously dudded by this bloke.

He can't opt out without a trade

A bit of chatter around that he feels he was duped into signing a lesser contract than what he could have had, and perhaps not all dealings were truthful. Gotta be some bad blood to want out only 1 year into a deal.

How about this for a far fetched theory:

RORY SLOANE
It looked pretty likely that he was going to leave at the end of the season only to surprisingly sign a 5 year deal. Now, he's a loyal character and would be wanting the Crows to get the best possible deal for the club he loves knowing at the end of the year that he would request a trade. Talks behind the scenes begin between Adelaide and StKilda, a deal is forged where StKilda give Adelaide their 1st and 2nd round picks to get it done. As McGovern has shown, contracts dont mean jack anymore and after what I believe may have happened last weekend with him missing the game may make the go home factor even more prevalent, for both of them.
That would mean a glut of picks in the top 10 and a load up on SA talent and maybe stealing a ruckman from somewhere
Get that corn outta my face!!

What pick is that?

Pick 19 and some exchanging of later picks. Love how the Crows want nothing less than pick 1 for a bloke with massive potential who to date has had many injuries in a short career.

At least you know what you are getting with McGovern, Lukosis is still a bit unknown

Look at Schache, number 1 pick, meant to be a superstar and he is meh

GWS made cam McCarthy stay out of footy as opposed to trade him to Freo as he requested
