Still enjoying social media comments around McGovern - people saying they expect Carlton's #1 pick.. and in the same sentence write "He's not that good anyway"

He was a gun who they were thrilled to keep last year and now he's surplus to requirements and him leaving is a good thing for Adelaide.

If someone, from any club or business , just continues to be told you are worth more even if you are not, do you believe them?

His manager must have been ok with the contract offer as he signed only 12 months ago. Perhaps seeing his brother earn more as he is a better player has given him an inflated opinion of his own ability

I was of the belief that he was told the piggy bank was bare so he settled on that and then days later they found another piggy bank to get Gibbs over, that's where he got his nose put out of joint, the implosion of the Collective Minds saga wouldn't have helped, they were a fair basket case for a while there and there's a lot none of us will ever know.

Piggy bank was bare until Cameron and Lever went. Had they both stayed there would be no Gibbs at Adelaide

As much as I’d like to sink the boots into the Crows, can’t over this one. The cupboard was likely bare because their budget already included an amount for Gibbs, who allegedly took a cut to get the move back home. If McGovern signed it would suggest he couldn’t get more elsewhere at that time and/or he was happy with the amount he committed to. It’s on him and/or his agent imho.

Crows shouldn’t give up the earth for earlier picks, Luko and Rankine will probably want out of GC after a coupla years anyway (around the same time the Crows draft picks prob want out too lol)

Last year there was no Fogerty and I think we all realise that Fog, JJ,Tex, Lynch and McGovern all in the one forward line doesn’t work as it’s too tall ;)

So why do you want to swap McGovern out for Lukosius? You realise he's a tall forward as well don't you? ;)

Smart move by Dew, young family living on the Gold Coast, has just bought himself 5 years up there.

Could f*** any future coaching gigs for him though, or could pave the way for a huge role, either way, tough gig, tough culture to shake, especially for a bloke that loves a pint.

Smart by Dew. Think the AFL will bend over backwards for the Suns in the next few years. Will probably get PP’s for the next few years, almost like they are starting from scratch

Where Lukosius goes in the draft will probably come down to how he plays for the Eagles in the finals coming up, a great performance will see him No. 1, a flat performance may see him drift.

Didn't Jimmy Toumpass launch his AFL career on the back of a good finals campaign for the Eagles in SANFL finals? Buyer beware!
